In game music must change

Postby Air Jordon on Sat May 14, 2005 4:26 pm

Now NBA live 05 was filled with rap tunes, and ONLY rap tunes. I added some rock songs to it and some really felt like they were really in the game. Personally i dont like how they have rap only. Do they really think the only people that play this game like rap only? I would really like it if they mixed it up with rap and rock like EA did for the Need for speed underground series, especially #1. They had a great mix of rock and rap. I dont listen to rap anymore but songs that were in Live 05 were kind of annoying. "Jump and move and jump and move and jump and move and stop" Yes, please stop that song! MC lyte? please... just give us a variety and the option to turn off a song if we want like they had in NBA Street V3.

I don't have a real problem with NBA Live 2005's soundtrack, but then the soundtrack's never been a big deal for me. I wouldn't mind a greater variety of songs though.

I Don't Mind Some Of The Songs But If I Do, I Just Turn It Off And Just Add My Own Music Into The Game. Rock Music Doesn't Suit Basketball.

my friend had an old video of music with basketball footage by the NBA videos, and my favorite video was shawn kemp and all his highlights were done with the song "go" by pearl jam and it was awesome. I like rock and basketball together, you just have to use the right songs, it does go well if you use the right songs.

2005 Music was garbage, very annoying. I have never been as annoyed by the music as I was in 2005's. I have an XBOX and one of the highlights EA refuses to use is custom soundtracks(because they have a deal with Rhino or somebody). I can't wait for XBOX 360 which promises to allow custom music on all games. Thus, the end of crappy in game music.

I think Live's soundtrack should go with some different song types instead of just rap. Some of them songs get so annoying but I try not to pay attention to them.

Just make the horrible noices stop! Stop!

I'm tired of the horrid, putrid crap they force on us through NBA Live-series. Thank god for ditty-importer.
Since I can, and have changed them I shouldn't complain, but still...

You can't have rock music in a basketball game

Just need more variety of rap and BETTER songs

I can't agree with you there....just because basketball players in the NBA are predominately African American does not mean that its fans like rap....some variety would be nice....bit of the Doors perhaps :P anything is better than the current soundtrack....you'd probably feel the same if the soundtrack was all rock

YEAH! 2000 rocks! ...um...raps! I don't like rap music much, but BBall and rap belong together imho. I have to try and ditty my own songs into the game anyway, cause the '05 soundtrack just sux!

'Yeah!' from Usher should be in it. It's a highly played song at NBA games and as they say, if it's in the game, put it in the game.

the shit sound track is cos EA get music made FOR the game instead of just picking some up beat tunes that dont have anything to do with Bball.

i like nba live 04's soundtrack, it had good songs

true that just cos most players are African American doesn't mean the fans like the music but it COULD have a variety of songs like nfs underground 2 had a mix of rock, rap and TECHNOooo so they could do that, but i dont know if many players could slam dunk listening to spiderbait black betty "oooooh black betty bam la bam..."

or maybe they could =/

maybe even have like on the grand theft autos, a Radio like a rock radio, techno radio, hippity hop rabbit station, But that might be un-necessary, i bet the SERIOUS nba live players dont mind the music, i just listen to my iPod

From what I read around, most sports games that have sounds tracks like EA sports games, are getting dizzed for crap music / sounds tracks, and people wind up hacking the games for improved or personalized sound.

So my impression is that - like anything else - music is soo individual, that you can never hit a home run, but better to let it open for people to import their own mp3's and customize it accordingn to wishes... give the ommuinty a basic 5-10 trakcs with the game, and an official importer and spend the energy on gameplay.

My ears bleed whenever i load up nba live, maybe thats why i never play it or patch it.
I can't stand that Rap is automatically shoved down the throats of every basketball fan.

Heres a little pointer.. not the whole world is black/negro/african american or whatever other term you wanna call yourselves... bad enough its rap, they put the mainstream rappers in like chingy and the likes... or a bunch of black men yelling at me. :|

Get a 360 and play whatever music you deem enjoyable, I plan to implement The Ambassador's " Get You Open" because it sounds like a good B Ball song.
