Name your All Time Lakers and Celtics Squads

Tue May 17, 2005 3:27 am

Lakers:

Mine are:

C - Shaquille O'Neal
PF- Wilt Chamberlain
SF- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
SG-Kobe Bryant
PG-Magic Johnson

Maybe Kareem is not athletic enough to play the SF position, so realistically Elgin Baylor would play SF.

Bench:

Jerry West
James Worthy

Another line-up that could work wonders is:

C - Shaq
PF- Wilt
SF-Magic
SG-Kobe
PG-West

-------------------------------------

Celtics:

C: Bill Russell
PF:
SF:Larry Bird
SG
PG:Bob Cousy

Note: I don't know too much about the Celtics history, please help me fill in the rest. Thank you.

Tue May 17, 2005 4:32 am

PF: Antoine Walker

Tue May 17, 2005 4:51 am

C: Travis Knight
PF: Mark Madsen

I forgot all about Mikan; I failed to name 7 reserve players for the all-time Lakers squad so he's easily on there. Can't believe I forgot old number 99...complete mental blank.

Patrixxx73 did the same thing.

lol, why do u always choose really bad underdogs!?

Don't hate on Ceballos :(

 heh heh heh... and George Mikan too! (NBA's first giant of the Minneapolis Lakers) Thanks for reminding me Jae!

Ceballos is the king....without Ceballos Lakers would have never got those last 3 championships

All-Time Showtime Lakers
C- Kurt Rambis
PF- James Worthy
SF- Cedric Ceballos
SG- Byron Scott/Eddie Jones (as a rookie)
PG- Magic Johnson

that is your team....

Celtics
C- Bill Russell
PF- Dave Cowens
SF- Larry Bird
SG- John Havlicek (more of a SF but he can slide in here)
PG- Jojo English

whilst they may not be the best teams that each could put up, this is where it's at 8-)

Wed May 18, 2005 9:19 pm

isnt it jojo white???

haha, you're probably right....however, my hybrid of Jojo White and Alex English is enough to scare the bejebus out of any opponent

Kareem
Wilt
Baylor
West
Magic

thats my 5 lakers. now as for the celtics

Russell
McHale
Bird
Lewis
Cousy

probably going to catch some grief about the lewis pick but that kid could play. he was one hell of a defender which i always like, and he could score. i am probably picking him based on what i think he would have done more so than what he did, but i am sticking with him.

Thu May 19, 2005 12:31 pm

Hey...ummm....Wilt's a centre, not a forward.

Thu May 19, 2005 1:00 pm

Just for kicks im gonna do an all time pacers

PG- Mark Jackson
SG- Reggie Miller
SF- Chuck Person
PF- George McGinnis
C- Mel Daniels

Bench: Detlepf Shrempf, Rik Smits, Jermaine O'Neal, Dale Davis, Rogera Brown, Freddie Lewis, Ron Artest :D

Now, for the Celtics.

C- Bill Russell
PF- Kevin McHale
SF- Larry Bird
SG- Sam Jones
PG- Bob Cousy

Havlicek (wasnt he a PF? A lot of people are listing him as a guard)

The 6-5 Boston Celtics star was a perpetual-motion machine, a human dynamo who was legendary for wearing out opponents with his relentless baseline-to-baseline efforts. A star at both forward and guard, Havlicek's versatility made him perhaps the finest all-around player in the history of the NBA, according to Sports Illustrated.

That of course is true in a sense. Ceballos was traded to Phoenix in 1997 for Robert Horry who proved to be a key player in that threepeat.

Fri May 20, 2005 8:15 pm

^^^ my point exactly....

I haven't supported an NBA team passionately since that trade :(
