u went 2-5 in this update, that's an awful result for a NBA-Finals team
It's still way too early... Plus I got to the Finals last year as a 7th seed, so maybe we're a playoff team omly... now let's get to the playoffs again...
I think the difference is Tim Thomas who went from a 20ppg, 10rpg guy in last season's playoffs to a well....look at the stats and you will see....
Yes, that's true. One of the reasons I traded for Dubleavy is that in some dynastied I had simmed waaayyyy back , he was a scoring monster... Simmed games benefit his stats greatly, but maybe with Andrew's changes in the new rosters this has been toned down a bit... The only player that is a lock-on to improve your team's simmed results if you trade for him would be Peja Stojakovic... but I didn't want to pull off something unrealistic...

Yes, I'll probably use Mike as a 6th man. Timmy's stats are excellent for a 6th man in simmed games in Live... Let's see if he can be his old playoff self...

The trend continued, with the Knicks playing superbly on th eroad and utterly crap at home. This tiem around New York killed the Celtics, led by Jamal Crawford’s 28-5-5 game, and Odom’s 20. Paul Pierce had 22 for the home team, but could not prevent the blowout and his team’s 14th loss in 23 games so far.

The Knicks visited the Continental Airlines Center in Dallas for the first time since their heartbreaking loss in game 7 of the NBA Finals a few months ago, and made a statement by defeating thir opponents with a good, solid 4th quarter performance. JC had 20 points along with 7 assists, Odom added 18 pts – 11 rebs, but the difference maker was Mike Dunleavy, scoring 17 points off the bench, 10 of which consecutively in crucial moments during the 4th. Mike has embraced his 6th man role well so far. Finley led Dallas in scoring with 20, but shot only 8/23 from the field.

Finally a win at the Garden for the Knicks, against the Lakers too. Tim Thomas and Jamal Crawford led the charge with 23 points each, while JC added playing excruciating defense on Stephon Marbury who could not even reach double digits in points. Kobe and Caron Butler had 27 and 21 respectively, but the 4th quarter comeback they attempted to perform was not completed with a victory.

Another road victory for the Knicks. Tim Thomas’28points, 9 rebounds resulted in his best game of the season ,and JC added 10 assists. The Spurs barely edged out the Knicks in this one, breaking their winning streak at 4 and providing them with more questions about why they keep on playing in the Garden as if the were playing in an open court in the middle of the Sahara desert. JC had 28 points and Lamar Odom had 21pts –15rebs – 9ast, but not even the two of them combined were a match for Tim Duncan , who put up 28 points, grabbed 16 boards, threw 8 dimes and swatted 7 shots.

Even with Michael Redd out with injury, the Knicks still managed to throw this game away. The frontcourt trio of Thomas, Odom and Magloire had a blast with each of them scoring 20 points or more, but in the end they fell to Desmond Mason’s stellar play. Mason had 19points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in only 20 minutes off the bench. Keith Van Horn, who returned to the Bucks last summer after a short stint with the Mavs that gave him a title, led his team in scoring with 28 points.

After leading with 15 in the start of the 4th quarter, a Lakers’ charge led by the amazing Caron Butler who had 30 points and 14 rebounds resulted in a 33 – 15 quarter outscore that handed LA the win, even with Kobe Bryant having a season low with 9 pts. Odom had 18 for the Knicks.

Tim Thomas was once again the key to a New York victory on the road, finishing in 35 minutes of game action with 25 points and 14 rebounds, teaching Dunleavy a thing or two about SF duties… Houston added 18 points and JC 9 assists, and put Chris Kaman’s effort (17pts – 17rebs) to waste.
The really bad news, and I mean REALLY BAD news, coming after this important road victory, is that Lamar Odom tore his Achilles tendon after awkwardly landing from a rebounding attempt. The team doctor took his tests on Lamar and has just called me to inform that he will be out for approximately 3 weeks. Ouch. With the team struggling to find any consistency so far and the bench thin on big men behind Brian Grant, things are not looking so bright for the team’s record in January. Let’s hope we go through this plight unscathed… Now we are going to move Tim Thomas at the 4 and Dunleavy will start at the 3.

The score in the second half alone was 76 – 38 for the Pistons… Need I say more? After a great first half, the Knicks led their opponents by 17 and were looking good for the win, even without Odom in the lineup. But then Detroit exploded and turned the rest of the game into a never-ending nightmare for us. Chauncey Billups scored 37 points with 6/6 three pointers, while Hamilton and Prince added 24 and 20 respectively. JC and Magloire had 21 points each for the Knicks, but most of them in the first half.

Another collapse in the second half resulted in a loss for the Knicks, with their record at exactly .500. Zach Randolph and Derek Anderson did not meet much resistance offensively and scored 24 and 21 points respectively. Zach also added 14 rebounds. Tim Thomas was once more the main contributor to New York’s offense with 19, with his efforts proving to be in vain at the end.

Tim Thomas had another Odom like showing, finishing this game with 20 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds. Mike Dunleavy handled the starter role perfectly and put up 22 point son the board. No less than 7 players on the Knicks’ roster scored double figures, making Amare Stoudemire’s 29 for the Suns seem like pittance.

Another fine high scoring victory on the road, this time against the totally refurbished since last season Hawks. Mike Dunleavy had a season high of 27 points, and Magloire too with 16 rebounds. JC complimented them well with 19 points, 8assists and 6 rebounds. Troy Murphy, acquired in the summer via free agency, scored 32 for Atlanta.

Dunleavy led in scoring with 24, JC had a fine game at the point with 16pts – 12 ast, and Brian Grant came off the bench to grab 10 rebounds. From Houston, Yao had 27 pts – 13 rebs, but McGrady was nowhere to be seen on the court.

The Bobcats put a scare on us bringing this contest to the wire at the end, but Glenn Robinson missed the open game-winning three, and out hearts returned to their rightful places. Tim Thomas scored 22, leading 6 Knicks with double figures, while on the other hand Charlotte based themselves upon Gerald Wallace’s 27pts – 16 rebs performance.

Today Lamar Odom was finally cleared by the team’s medical staff to play. He had been involved in practices all last week, but I wouldn’t risk playing him.
