Meh, he deserved it, though Shaq deserved it more and I would've rather seen him win it, ah well...

Agreed.

By the way, didn't he slow down drastically towards the end of the season?

Nash deserved it, but Shaq even more, Nash really helped the Suns, but he was not the only reason they got better, the improvement of Joe Johnson and Amare, addition of Q-Rich, the playing style the coach decided to run, those were all reasons they got better in addition to adding Nash.

Also the way the teams offense ran really helped him in getting the award. I would've given it to Shaq, but Nash did good and deserve it too, and he is Canadian.

Nash is not a core/franchise player, he's like the worst MVP in NBA history in terms of how good a player he is. Look at a team like the Cavs, they need outside shooting, the Suns needed someone to run the offense and be a playmaker and Nash filled the role, so if the Cavs added Redd and won 60 games, would he be an MVP candidate?

I shocked me to find out about the result but I'm happy for Nash, he definitely is the MVP for the Suns. Maybe Shaq will get recognize next season but I doubt it because Lebron will be coming stronger than ever and watch out for Kobe too :P maybe Yao will have a breakout season too :)

watch out Washington, Shaq's gonna whoop they ass after hearing this news.

My MVP is Shaq, he had Miami winning and with his presence some guys around him are having career years. No player in the L can replace what Shaq does either, whilst Nash can be easily replaced.

You can argue that Wade carried the Heat all you want, and to some extent that is true. But his improvement and increased production has been helped out by Shaq. With Shaq out there defences can't focus their defense on Wade. W/O Shaq Wade would have a much tougher year, he'd get dbl and triple teamed like most players do when they have a breakout year.

nah nah mah man dre be da mvp fo shizzle yo, step da fuck back yo he aint no white wigga yo. imma brin diz shizzle to court yo, dre be da mvp.

:D

I was rooting for Marion actually....but I agree Steve Nash is being overrated.....ppl say Dre's 16-11 season wasnt that big....but he had only Ricky Davis and Lamond Murray as passing options....yet Nash has 5 or 6 but is considered an MVP....this team could win 50 games nash-less....put Jason Kidd, Starbury, Dwyane Wade or even Kirk Hinrich in the same situation and your in for something way more scarier...

Steve Nash deserves this prize. Yes, he got a very talented team but his team can't be so dominant without it. If I remember right, when Nash got a minor injury and Suns had to play without him they averaged about 90 (correct me if I'm wrong) points and lost 3 in a row. Nash makes the whole team better. 11.5 assisits in 34 minutes is amazing!

I'm a little sad that Shaq didn't get it but there is only one prize. Perhaps Nash won't get another opportunity like this. However, Shaq probably will.

Well another time he got injured they averaged I think it was 115 PPG, and went 2-1 also beating the Mavericks in that stretch, so meh...

this team was built for running, so whichever PG that could run the break was pretty much destined for MVP considerations.

LMFAO
I really don't think there's much surprise here. He's like Big Ben, there's so much hype surrounding him and this award how can you not vote for him? :?

Maybe it's a racist overtone, but I find it kinda funny that a person with "In Tha Hood" as their location is happy about a white Canadian with a queer haircut winning MVP, yet doesn't think a large black rap artist () deserved it.

if you are lookin at stupid details, i´ll do it, too...if you mention the "in tha hood" thing, then say:"as his location", cause i´m one person...

i hate this kind of shit, in germany these kind of people are called "krümelkacker" :shake: in my eyes the content counts...

You contradicted yourself. Saying you would rather look at the content, then focusing on the fact that I said "their location" coming from a person who seemingly doesn't believe in capital letters or correct punctuation, you're not really in a position to pick at what I've posted.

Well I think it clearly shows that the NBA wants to up the O-game and downright ignore the D-game...

Going by the literal definition of MVP, Nash isn't anymore valuable to his team than Shaq is, if less. To me, he's just a large piece of a perfect puzzle. He's still the same player that he was in Dallas, just in a different system that suits him better. Take Amare out or the three "spot-up shooters" and the Suns will be very hurt. There's just no proof of that, because unlike Nash, these guys aren't injury-prone.

Shaq, on the other had, has a worst supporting cast(I know Wade will be special, but 3-4-5 don't come close to Phoenix's) and took his team to the best record in the conference.

Individually, it's no contest. Voting for Nash is like voting for a baseball DH. Whether the Suns play any D or not, it works for Nash perfectly since he can't play D. O'Neal is a difference-maker on both ends of the floor. Nash is a liability in 50% of what basketball is.
