look at this picture
Dallas got possession after this. They got screwed big time!!!!!!
Tue May 03, 2005 3:51 pm
what do you mean?
Tue May 03, 2005 4:06 pm
he was out of bounce.
anyway officals aren't 100% accurate.
they also called a foul when houston didn't foul finley and were trying to get the steal as sports center clearly showed. Officals are sucking now, but it's a part of the game I guess.
Tue May 03, 2005 4:23 pm
officials will never be perfect unfortunatly.
Part of sport really.

Finley slapped the ball away from Barry in that picture to get the ball, but he was so far out of bounds everybody even on TV wondered what crack the officials were on.
And even NBA.com reported "The Mavericks inbounded to Michael Finley, who was trapped in the corner by a pair of Rockets. Although neither defender touched Finley, a foul was called."
Nothing is 100%, but this was obnoxiously bad. If it was the standard missed call here & there, NBA.com itself wouldn't have reported that's what decided the game.
Tue May 03, 2005 7:08 pm
that really is an atrocious call, it wasn't even close.

yeah that was pretty stupid "the biggest fine by a coach ever" or something the press has said.
That whole fine was pretty stupid.
As for Dallas And Houston.
It doesnt matter cuz Dallas is better than Houston annyway
Tue May 03, 2005 8:50 pm
well... u can say that if Dallas wins the next game!
Tue May 03, 2005 9:02 pm
isn't there a ref on the baseline at all times?
Tue May 03, 2005 9:04 pm
I thought theres 3 refs in every game... and is therea video ref or video crew?
Tue May 03, 2005 10:00 pm
the video situations only come into play on buzzer beaters.

Wed May 04, 2005 2:58 pm
it was similar to Lakers got screwed by the refs.. last year.. in the final..
especially game 4.
Thu May 05, 2005 12:56 am

How so? And Pistons won a lot of those games easily. The only really close one was game 2 and the Lakers won that in OT.
This was a tight game the officials fucked up by making a bad call.

That fine by Stern was ridiculous. It was made into a big deal because of that fine, not because of what Van Gundy said, which didn't bother me. And that warning Van Gundy would be banned for life? Ridiculous.

not really..
game 4 was an important game for Lakers..
but the fouls were like 35-20..
so the FTs were way more than Lakers too.
Those fts gave them more points.

It's been suggested that Stern's stern stance (I know, I didn't have to word it that way) against Van Gundy is due to comments he made after the Knicks/Heat brawl back in the 1997 Playoffs. I'm inclined to agree. Stern's comments about Van Gundy having a big problem with him as long as he was the commissioner seemed like angrier than his usual business-like statements to the press.
Thu May 05, 2005 11:41 am
ok now stern is holding grudges.....i have to admit the knicks-maimi is dowright ugly.....but there is no way jeff started the whole fiasco.....he was even the peace maker back then....stern should act more professional that state "this is not over yet for jeff van gundy" sound like a line from a movie traitor there for me.

Also in the finals that was the biggest difference in fouls by 2 teams in history (don't know if it's just finals or any game period).
Thu May 05, 2005 3:10 pm
I think there was a bigger difference in a Miami Heat game a few yeard ago (in favour of the opposition) which upset Pat Riley quite a bit.
