uggh....what an ugly game....89-69....

Yup, I had them shooting around .350 ... great D ... Pistons style... (Y)

wow it's looking good for Warriors since getting B-Diddy....I see why you don't want to mess with the team's rhythm as they seem to be going alright....

4 straight and counting ... :D (Y)

Dunleavy must have heard all the "experts" saying he should be traded and he's come out and stepped up....

He's still on the trade block ... just waiting for the Raps to offer me Pape...

Nice win, even though it was only against the Raptors.

It affects the winn/loss column the same way a blowout win against the Spurs would

I knew you'd see it my way...

Coming Up: The Warriors visit the windy city on the 4th stop of their road trip, hoping to extend their win streak to 5 and close in on the .500 mark even more? Will the struggling Bulls stop the surging Warriors? Will Baron Davis have 10+ assists for the 5th consecutive game? Don't go anywhere, and find out...

You had a nice balance scoring attack in that game and Dunleavy was unconcious from downtown. Had two players with double-doubles and almost had 3 with Murphy. Nice recap (Y)

It was the defense that brought the easy victory, though. 69 points against, in 48 minutes and having them shoot .350 is no small feat... even if it's the raptors we're talking about... :D

Arg, just had to beat the Raptors eh? :P But it's good to see that the Warriors are getting on track. Jason Richardson is a beast. (Y)

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do...

Nearing .500 , that's good, Warriors haven't been anything better than 40-42 since the Webber era 10 years ago... And yes, J-Rich is consistent to say the least. Whatever happens, he'll get his 20 points more or less in every game... (Y)

Good luck for the rest of the season...

Things are turning for the better, for sure. We've missed you Mich, come back with recaps in your dynasty soon...

JANUARY 10, 2005

THE GAME: CHICAGO BULLS vs. GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS

Image

Golden State started this game the same way they ended their previous one in Canada. Rugged defense, combined with some fine shot selection on the offensive end, had the visitors taking charge early on in the United Center. The Bulls were being led offensively by Antonio Davis’s hustle and Kirk Hinrich’s efficient passing, but they were no match for the Warriors’ trio of Davis, Richardson and Murphy who once again played as if they had been on the same team for years. With the help of another one of Mike Dunleavy’s shooting displays, they closed the 1st quarter leading 19 – 29.
In the second period, Baron davis took charge of his team’s offense and proceeded to dunk, shoot and pass at will, to hold off a comeback attempt by Chicago, courtesy of Tyson Chandler and Luol Deng. With the added points the Warriors’ bench contributed, the half time score was 41 – 55.

Image
Baron Davis did it all on offense for the Warriors in the first half, including some high-flying dunks on top of Chicago’s big men…

The start of the second half saw the Bulls mount a partially successful comeback attempt, spearheaded by rookie combo guard Ben Gordon, who took it upon himself to shoot the ball on every occasion he deemed appropriate. That worked well enough in the first 5 minutes or so, but when Ben got cold from the field, it was time for some hot Warriors’ basketball to make a showing… In an amazing 7 minute span until the end of the 3rd quarter, Jason Richardson went on a scoring rampage, Troy Murphy on a rebounding spree, and Baron Davis on a passing extravaganza to make this undoubtedly the best piece of basketball the team had played so far in th season. Scoring 26 points in 7 minutes and letting in only 4 on defense, Golden State was up 54 – 85 at the end of the 3rd. With a 30-point lead in their favour heading into the 4th period, all the Warriors had to do was take it easy, play adequate defense and bring their third unit on the court, strolling to victory. Almost the entire quarter was garbage time, with Golden State blowing Chicago out, 79 – 107.

Image
J-Rich’s third quarter scoring heroics helped the Warriors get an insurmountable lead over the Bulls, thus making it easier on everybody in the end…

POG: BARON DAVIS 15pts – 17ast – 6stl –7/9 FGs

GS TOP PLAYERS:

JASON RICHARDSON 27pts – 5/7 3pt

TROY MURPHY 14pts – 12rebs

The Aftermath: The Warriors win their fifth game in a row after they traded for Baron Davis, and are currently one of the hottest teams in the NBA, only one game below .500 . Things are definitely looking up for the Oaklanders, who hope to get a winning record and playoff birth for the first time in 10 years.

GAME OF THE DAY:

MINNESOTA 94LA LAKERS 96 (Kobe Bryant 19pts – 8rebs – 4ast)

Yes, yes :D . 17-19 and still rising... I'm about 10th in the West now...

Coming Up: The road trip is over and the Warriors are red hot, not losing once... They are on a 5 game winning streak but now Sgaq and the Heat are paying Oakland a visit. Rumors say that Elden Campbell is going to start at Center to try and keep O'Neal in check... What wil happen when th etwo mountains collide? Will Shaq eat Elden for breakfast? Will the Heat, currently 2nd in the East, break Golden State's winning streak? Stay tuned, and find out...

Don't count on it John. Elden is listed at 7' 0" , 274 lbs and has a strength rating of near 90 in the game. He can bruise it with Shaq for , let's say, half a game...

to the GM:

congrats.we have seen quiet an improvement in our franchise for the moment. your performances has now gotten us a 16% rise in game attendance and hotdog sales are flooring still. our stocks have greatly improved by 2%...

the management has a few suggestion though:
1. if d.coleman is still in the free agent-----pls. consider in getting him for the next season or anytime soon.....he has a love child with one of my secretary here so he is close to my heart
2.also if the 3 IRL that we have is so mediocre, we suggest that you slith their throat NOW!......we can still get the likes of r.strickland or D.guogliata and other free agents being rated 52++ and can be very well usable for their individual services...

may you take this suggestion seriuosly.....bye bye for now.......

Hey!!! I don't want no corporate boo-hoos meddling around with my franchise...

Yes, that's right, MY franchise. I'm an OWNER/GM... must I say it twice? And I'm NOT SELLING to Trump...

How much are you offering, anyway?

I think Divac and Campbell are going to be packing their bags soon. I'll ship them off somewhere mid-south , where they can drink some fine whiskey... Catch my drift?

Problem is I don't really have any true C left... let's hope Murph can play some minutes in the 5spot without getting raped...

in real life the Grizz survive with Gasol, Wright, Swift....no real C there....although they got thumped in the playoffs....I think you can survive this season without a true C but you might want to look towards free agency, draft or somewhere for some help there....and a backup PG too

I think I'll take my chances on BD staying healty and pick one up in the draft. Let's hope Baron will not blow another kneecap or pull some obscure muscle, or we're doomed...

nah, the guy I'm going to trade for can play C, he's just not the prototypical specimen for that position. Plus there's Biedrins and Tskita to rotate with...

(God help us if Tskita plays C... )
