OMG I met Yao!!

Postby kevC on Sat Apr 30, 2005 9:43 am

This is true! Today I was getting gas at Conoco near my house and there he was! I completely froze and stuttered "Hey Yao, I I I umm... am a big fan." and I shook his hand! I asked him if I could get an autorgraph or a picture but he refused... I was kind of upset but I understand because he looked extremely tired. He drove a BMW and his seat had to be pulled back all the way to the back! I'm too stoked to speak comprehendibly now...

You know, if I was like Yao, and everybody in t estreet recognized me and came looking for my autograph, not giving me a single second to relax, I'd be pissed off most of the time... just imagine being Yao, all famous and too tall to go anywhere incognito...

He didn't smile or seem annoyed he just looked freakin' tired... I think he was coming back from practice since he was in his basketball "shorts" and a white shirt...

Hey, Im sure you didnt notice this (and i dont know if youve seen him in person before) but, did you see how huge his calfs were??? When i saw him at the Pacers-Rockets game his rookie year i sat first row and his calfs are ENOURMOUS!!!!

congrats on meeting him (Y), and thats not surprising he didnt give you an autograph, they almost never give autographs in non-game situations.

I grew up in New Orlenas and my mother worked in a bar where all the Saints use to hang out, so given the fact that there are very few famous Saints, they were gods to me Steve Stonebreaker, John Taylor and Archie Manning. I met John Taylor in my fake Green Bay Packer's helmet and shoulder pads...he was nice to a snotty nosed kid. Later I met Alexander Haig in Germany, and George Bush senior in Korea neither had have the effect on me as meeting Mr. Taylor. It could be because I was younger and therefore more impressionable, but I think Haig and Bush were less impressionable men.

just remember people, they're just normal people....chances are that you have better form on your jump shot....I noticed that when I play some crap ass NZ-level pro basketballers....they just have more athletic gifts than u (more height, atheticism, weight,e tc0....

so, remember, normal people....if I'm going for a shite in a public place, I don't want no cocksmoking mama's boy asking for an autograph, would u?!? think over that one carefully....
