Official Threat - Miami (1) VS New Jersey (8)

Postby beau_boy04 on Fri Apr 22, 2005 7:09 am

What are your predictions?

I'd say 3-1 Miami.

BUT I really like the chances of the Nets. They have been playing GREAT as of late and I can't say the same thing about the Heats.

1. Key Matchup in the PG position:

J Kidd 14.4 ppg - 7.4 rpg - 8.4 apg - 1.86 spg
Wade 24.1 ppg - 5.2 rpg - 6.8 apg - 1.57 spg

Kiss was regarded as the best PG of the past few seasons for his uncannity ability to run the floor but then again we have Wade who is definitely faster, quicker and athletic than Kidd and plus he's way younger. It'd be an interesting match.

2. Biggest disadvantage for the Nets:

Who's gonna cover Shaquille O'Neal?????? :?:

3. X-Factor:

Vince Carter who once drew comparison to the one and only Jordan early in his career. He has managed to come back from his slump and REALLY shine in New Jersey. Watch out for him!!!

Stats: 24.3 PPG - .497% 3P%

Thanks.

Yup, it was a best of 5 before, now it's a best of 7 in the first round.

I think everybody's going to predict that the Heat win - even if RJ comes back.

Yea I understand one about the Pacers vs Celtics because the Celtics though they're the higher seed don't seem like the favourites to most people, but New Jersey vs Miami isn't as close.

I predict that the Nets will win by way of Miami all developing back spasms due to a fearcely competitive team limbo tournament

Heat center Shaquille O'Neal has dismissed any notion that a deep bruise on his right thigh might keep him from playing in Game 1 of his team's first-round playoff series against the Nets. But The Diesel has also admitted that he has had difficulty bending his leg, according to the Miami Herald.

''I really can't bend it,'' O'Neal told the Herald. "It's pretty swollen. I've been doing double, triple treatments. Right now, I just have to see how it goes. If I can bend it, if I can run and jump, then I'll be ready to go.''

Vince Carter is the most unstoppable offensive perimeter player right
Jason Kidd will play good defence on Wade...

If JKidd shoots like ~44% and avgs 19 points.. Nets will have a chance..
Carter will probally avg 30+ shooting his wild 45+% 3pointers and 50% on da floor..

and if Shaq misses 1 game.. is unhealthy for another 2 ...

Nets will take them to 7 games.. but they'll still lose.. D:
