It'a about time.

"We felt the team had made progress in the past two years," Gilbert said. "But to get to a championship level we felt we needed to bring our own people in."

Uh ohhhh!!! Nelly and Usher's in the house!!

This is crazy ! coaches, general managers have no job security in today's NBA.
Yeah I saw the news about his release from the team.

bye bye birdie.. may little bro john has a job for him in chicago.. lol maybe lebron follows the gm that drafts him.. yeh right

Fri Apr 22, 2005 8:41 am

Oh man... When i read that i thought it said John Paxson...

I was like what?!?!?!?! He just turned around the Bulls and executed the best draft one team has ever had in NBA history!!

I think so. John is the GM of Chicago, and Jim was the GM of the Cavs before he got fired.

Okay, now all we have to do is find an omnipotent figure to fire Mr. Gilbert

Fri Apr 22, 2005 10:44 am

usher should step up and fire malone, rehire silas and get rid of that piece of garbage called eric snow

Fri Apr 22, 2005 11:39 am

Saw it coming, don't completely agree with it. The collapse in my view was due to the midseason sale of the team, Dan Gilbert's meddling and the firing of Paul Silas. I suppose it won't hurt too much, but Gilbert should be careful about what he chops and changes, and certainly very careful about his relationship with LeBron James.

Wonder if he'd still have gotten fired if the Nets had lost their final game.

Fri Apr 22, 2005 5:19 pm

of course not all the firing is due to unsuccessfull shit!

In today's NY Daily News, there's an article saying Ilgauskas is apartment hunting in New York. Damn. WTF is going on in Cleveland? Do you Cavs fans think LeBron is gone in two years?

If it's NY news, it could be a rumor.

I'm not a Cavs fan but I'll answer anyway. ;)

Possibly. I can't see him leaving just yet but if the Cavaliers remain mired in mediocrity and Dan Gilbert does nothing to endear himself to his young star, I could see LeBron finding his way out of Cleveland.

If the Knicks did everything the reporters said they would, thy're lineup would look like this:

G - Marbury
G - Carter
F - Jalen Rose
F - Ben Wallace
C - Z

that's basically an all-star lineup, except for Jalen.
