PiksS (left) goes for a one-handed dunk after leaving 'Melo behind. 'Melo (right) only
basket came from this 2-point shot.

Dec 31 Sat -- Rihards Gromuls proved to be too much for Biason. Gromuls not only has the height advantage but also showed he got the speed and had quick first step. He made most of his perimeter shot and was almost perfect close to the basket.

Biason, on the other hand, never got the chance to show his offensive skill. He only able to attempt 2 shots and both were from the 2-point area. While in defense, he had a hard time defending the taller and almost quicker Gromuls.

The game started with Gromuls having the possession. He quickly jumped to an early 3 point lead by making 2 jumpshots, 1 from near the free-throw line and a 2-point shot. Then he made Biason guessing on defense when he made an explosive move to the basket for a one-handed dunk and lead the game 4-0. Biason made a few stop but unable to take a shot as he always commit turnovers. He took a 2-point shot but only hit the rim. Gromuls again had the possession and made a follow-up lay-up and another jumpshot for a 6-0 lead. Biason then made a 2-pointer to make it a 6-2 count but that was the last attempt we made in the game. After getting back the ball, Gromuls made 5 straight points to win this one, 11-2.

Rihards Gromuls will now advance to the semifinal round of this tournament
