he better stay in cleveland. if the nba is going to continue to market him as the next greatest, he should do what the greatest did, stay with one team and bring his team a championship.

i don't think playing in a big city with a big market is a factor- people worldwide are going to buy lebron james shoes & jerseys no matter what team he is on.

i would be totally against lebron james taking a 1yr contract making him unrestricted free agent after his 4th year. the nba would turn into 'the days of lebron's james life' soap opera where jim grey or jack haley types are reporting everyday a new team would allegedly be signing james.

I think it would be ridiculous to leave Cleveland after only two years, just so he can make more money in big market cities.

-The Lakers are not in the Playoff because Kobe has been suffering nagging injuries throughout the season and since the Lakers are not good enough as a team, Kobe couldn't take them to the next level, and I think Rudi leaving the Lakers was a big hit too.

-Lebron shoots .476, .353 and .755, FG, 3P, and FT respectively.
Kobe shoots .431, .345 and .852

Just by looking at the numbers and ignoring the player's name, who would you pick? I'd pick LB. And don't be that crack that LB high FG% is coz he dunks a lot, then why Kobe man doesn't do the same? Kobe is known for his high flying abilities too. And just a thought, Lebron James is the player with most FGs made so far this season, having A Iverson trailing him of course.

Just knowing LB I don't think he'd demand a trade even if the Cavaliers don't reach the playoff. But please Cleveland dont push your luck!

Can osmeone tell me? Does LB have a better shot selection? Do NBA defences collapse on both players and force them into tough shots?

^ not really, from the games i've seen he doesn't force it if he knows he's being defended very well.. he knows how to pass in tough situations though. that's probably the only knack that i have on kobe is that he does the exact opposite

Imagine what the Knicks payroll would be if Lebron joined them after his 4 years are up? haha absolutely ridiculous!

Maybe Lebron is not going anywhere, I mean Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and others played their entire career with the team who drafted them. But if the management is not doing any good he will definitely leave

Chicago would own the East if they got LeBron.

Of course that would be their lineup. It;s not like Cleveland would want anything back from Chicago. Maybe just Othella Harrington and Jannero Pargo, dumbass.

Maybe LeBron should retire and go to college.

Maybe people in this thread should stop saying Jordan stayed with 1 team throughout his career (like Bird and Magic).

Well maybe its not the end, they won their last game against the Bucks 98 to 81. James recorded his 3rd career triple double posting 40 points, 10 rebs, 10 assts. We haven't seem the best of LB yet, the best is yet to come in their last couple of games (I hope)

And just a for fun check out this numbers:

Ranks #3 in PPG 26.8
Ranks #3 in SPG 2.22
Ranks #6 in APG 7.2
Ranks #1 in FGM 725

All of that and much more at age 20 is just phenomenal. This guy is really destinated to become the next great one. I wish him luck because what MJ accomplished throughout his career is very difficult to top it off but Lebron is in the right foot.

I'm expecting 30-8-8 next season. Or maybe 28-10-10 in case if wanna become the 2nd player in history to averaged a triple double for the season.

that would be thier line up if they waited for the 4 years, and assuming they resign thier own players. personally i dont think he is going anywhere.

haha true but i think beau_boy04's point was that jordan did 'resurrect' the team that originally drafted him and lead them to multiple championships... just like bird and magic

haha that's one way to say it

probably any team that trades for lebron will end up like the cavs anyway since they'll have to give up quite a lot to land him

thats not really true. when a player demands a trade or threatens to walk when his contract expires, teams basicly get whatever they can for them.

yeh there's a chance that could happen too. i guess a little more likely if he were to make this demand in the middle of the season. would lebron james tarnish his image this early in his career and demand a trade?

i can't remember a player of james caliber being in this situation. we're talking about the most marketed player, the face of the league who has the potential to be the 'greatest''. man, i could see david stern cringing at the thought

i've haven't scanned through all of the teams payroll for next year to see who has the cap/personnel to acquire lebron james

i'm not sure i'm going to even bother. i think he's staying
