it's been a while and vince hasn't been in the all-nba team since probably the 2000-01 season (2nd team).. seeing him turn it on the 2nd half of the season, do you think he's going to land a spot in any of the all-nba team? im surprised his name didn't come up that much in the earlier threads about all-nba predictions but lets face it, he's probably one of the top 7 nba players right now.. him and j. kidd pretty much turned them into a contender once again. having said that, i think vince will make an all-nba team.. realistically, all-nba third but he probably deserves all-nba second.
also, what about kidd? do you think he'll land a spot?

If he's lucky, he'll make the third team.
Sun Apr 10, 2005 9:02 am
Why would he make it?

There are tons of forwards who deserve it way more than Vince Carter. Even someone like Shawn Marion, who isn't in the spotlight all the time, has had a better season than VC.

Arenas better make at least the third team or I'm boycotting the NBA.
Sun Apr 10, 2005 11:20 am
j. 23... i agree with ur teams lol... There are a lot of good players this season...
Sun Apr 10, 2005 12:50 pm
my bad , i switched stoudemire and yao around

I'm predicting Kidd won't make the cut this year but Carter might have a shot at the third team. DipSetVC's right though, Arenas is a guy who might get the nod over Vince as he's been playing well all season and is on a more successful team, which usually has an influence on the voting.

Kobe doesn't deserve maybe even 2nd team with how him and his team have been playing:
1st Team
G - Steve Nash
G - Dwyane Wade
F - Dirk Nowitzki
F - Tim Duncan
C - Shaquille O'neal
2nd Team
G - Allen Iverson
G - Lebron James
F - Tracy McGrady
F - Kevin Garnett
C - Amare Stoudemire
3rd Team
G - Ray Allen
G - Kobe Bryant
F - Vince Carter
F - Shawn Marion
C - Yao Ming
Arenas should make it, but looking at the guards in the league, it'll be hard. It's a situation where he deserves it, but their's not enough spots. I don't think they'll have no Sonic player making it when they're such a high seed.

Vince hasn't had too bad a season...

J23. I can not belive you chose Duncan and Nowitzki over the reigning MVP Kevin Garnett, who by the way who is leader in rebounds and double-doubles.
Sun Apr 10, 2005 4:23 pm
And Yao over Stoudemire is just off the hook. Ask anybody in the league who would they prefer. Stoudemire is the unanimous decision in most cases.

...and who didn't made the Playoffs.

Exactly, that's all it's about, KG is too good to not make an All-NBA team, but no playoffs, and with Duncan and Dirk making the post-season, = second team for him.

He's averaged 27 ppg and is one of the top guys at 30+ games. Add 5.8 rpg and 4.8 rpg and a good shooting percentage and I find it hard that he couldn't be on any of the All-NBA first-third teams.

I was actually debating about that, wasn't sure which one to put. Arenas won't make first or second team IMO. He doesn't have that respect yet from media people etc, he deserves to make third team, but it will still be tough.
