umm I think NBA teams are pretty smart to see that drafting Clarence Weatherspoon/Rodney Rogers as lottery picks never paid off.

And I never said Nelson is a bad player....I was talking about how he fell on draft day due to those problems.

I think the closest you'll ever come to being Nostradamus is predicting things that have already happened...

Eh?....your pretty much trying to be Nostradamus yourself.

Calm down....if your an avid Sean May fan say so...geez if u cant take the fact he wont be a lottery pick then ok...

I'm not even a fan, I just think you're being ignorant in the face of facts. Besides, Rodney Rogers was solid throughout his career, as far as Weatherspoon goes... his first 4 seasons

15ppg/7rpg
18ppg/10rpg
18ppg/6rpg
16ppg/9rpg

You don't think that's worth a lottery pick?

While we're on the issue of undersized power forwards who aren't quick or athletic enough for the NBA, Charles Barkley?

haha....I'm loving this....

Somehow I find the possiblity of an 6' 8" center(???) getting picked in the Top 10 quite improbable. If May can play the PF position adequately, he might get a Top 10 next year, but as a C? hell no...

undersized college C's who have gone in Top 10 in recent drafts off the top of my head....
Danny Fortson (10th pick by Bucks)
Mike Sweetney (10th pick by Knicks)

but you're right, May won't be a C, he's a PF....but like Malik Rose, Fortson and Sweetney, if you play big (and it helps if you're in the East) then you can also see minutes at C....although PF will be May's primary position I'd say....

Those guys are freaks of nature, extreme overachievers , special cases and props to them.( Include Sir Charles in the above list...) But what are the chances of drafting a 6'8" college center and getting to pick the next Big Ben? Logic is the main factor when draft choices are made, and that's why it would be difficult for May to get a Top 10 selection having played center at UNC.

I agree with X, he could make for a good PF in the NBA, it's just that he doesn't fit the pros current criteria for an NBA PF... They need tall and/or athletic guys, with May being neither. But the guy is a warrior, so let's all drink to him being the next Barkley, with less eating problems ofcourse... :D

Well, Ben Wallace wasn't even drafted lol but who knows... the mistakes other teams made (like the Celtics) were that they put too much emphasis on height, and in Boston's case they even tried to make him play SF when he was trying out for them.

rodney rogers? this guy was one of my favorite players when he was in college. he could out and hit the 3 or sscore in the post. i'm not sure if anyone remembers he hit 3 3pters in 9 seconds in his rookie year.

sean may could only dream to have rogers all around skills.

Sean may is going to surprise so many people when he comes out. He will be better then elton brand, they are similar players in my mind, but he WILL be better.

mark my words on that, quote me, do what you wish. I am saying right now on this forum that Sean May will be a better NBA player then Elton Brand.

Let's see. May can't jump, Brand can. May can't block, Brand can. May is slow, Brand can actually move his butt up and down the court. May is anathletic, Brand can dunk on KG.

I don't think the signs are pointing in your direction...

Yes. Now try to place May's 'speed' in the NBA and judge again...

sean may is extremly fast for his size. His speed is one of the main reasons he is projected to be such a high pick.

I really can't see May being as good as Brand....Brand is a career fringe All-Star guy....I just don't think he is at that level....I think he'll be good offensively....but don't know how he'll fit in defensively....

I think it's hard to judge him....he could go either sink or swim....at the moment, I can't see him as a star....just my opinion though....
