Well, at least he'll get a title before retiring.. That's good for him (Y)

Wed Apr 06, 2005 2:16 am

lol wow, maybe being with a championship contending team might change his attitude

Wed Apr 06, 2005 2:25 am

yeah the spurs bench is awesome...as always

Wed Apr 06, 2005 2:58 am

Now there's a shock, I was expecting a retirement or something.

Its a good signing if Robinson isnt an ass hole. But Big Dog is still a Cancer to any team hes on, thats why teh Hornets released him.

Man, the Spurs always have some nice acquisitions without destroying the core group. Kudos to Popovich, and let's hope Big Dog doesn't cause any trouble.

its not really a risk at all for the spurs. either robinson plays well and gets minutes, or he stinks up the joint and sits on the bench. they are good enough without him to win it all, so if he plays good ball they only get better. if not sit his ass and play like you have all season.

This is great for the Spurs as long as he keeps his mouth shut. He can put up some decent numbers for them coming off the bench filling in for Devin Brown, and just add to the Spurs offense when Brown gets back.

Glenn Robinson? Isn't he like 50 years old!!

Wed Apr 06, 2005 10:04 am

Glenn Robinson, old and retiring? He's 32 and sat out this season because he didn't want to play for Jim O'Brien in Philadelphia. I'm pretty sure he'll be around for a few more years yet.

I agree that the risk is fairly low for the Spurs. It might work out to be a nice offensive/defensive combo at small forward with Big Dog and Bruce Bowen. And if it doesn't work out, as Sauru pointed out they can just sit him and win as they've been doing all year...assuming Duncan will be back in time and his ankle is in good enough shape.

kinda shocking...hope he doesn't do anything to destroy the chemistry and whatnot

If Glenn Robinson flops this one, Popovich will just boot him out of the Spurs. Popovich takes no crap! It's that simple.

will this guy even be eligible to make the spurs playoff roster?

i believe that there's a cutoff date in which a player needs to be attained for him to be eligible for postseason play

Wed Apr 06, 2005 3:15 pm

i guess so.....no signing of free agents in the playoffs.........right now it's still i the season sched

Wed Apr 06, 2005 7:46 pm

hmmm... if hes playing for the spurs in the playoffs... providing hes on his best behaviour... the Spurs have gotten a little better...

Players have to clear waived by March 1st to be eligible for another team's playoff roster, as far as I can recall Robinson was cut by New Orleans in time.

the spurs would not have signed him i am sure if he could not play in the playoffs.
