Ok.. then Emeka is leading a crappy crappy crappy team.... ummm... well wat is better?

Ben on a team where he is doing well and its not only him who is making the team win or is it Meka keeping on going while his team keeps losing?

It's a matter of personal opinion. I'm not trying to bring down Emeka, rather making a case for Ben.

Both deserve it, and I would be happy to see either of them win it. But, I have a bias towards Ben for some reason.

IMO ( ) Gordon is overhyped right now, especially by the NBA. They need new stars and they are promoting guys like Amare, Wade, LeBron and Gordon because they really have the potential. Even though Gordon has been amazing, all of a sudden everyone likes him and 2/3 of the kobe sigs turn into gordon sigs.
The fact that he got way more popular made him a bigger candidate for the ROY too.

gordon is nowhere being promoted like those others you mentioned by the nba. is gordon even in a commercial that's nationally televised? the bulls have been on national TV for a total of 2 times... once since they've gotten over .500. in the game promos around chicago, they say "come see kirk hinrich and the bulls play...". he's not even the #1 guy in chicago. he doesn't even have a shoe endorsement deal...the bulls are beginning to get national exposure and rightfully so. and gordon happens to be one of the catalysts of this team. lol someone is overhyped because people in a some msg board put him in their sig.

Of course Gordon and Okafor were playing good in college too, but the quality level between the NBA and the NCAA is so big that IMO (there it is again :) ) they are playing better right now than they were last year.

Luckily "IMO" still means "in my opinion" so nobody has to agree. :)

lol um ok. you're conceding your credibility if you just keep on using IMO for your argument

IMO, the cadidates are :
Emeka
Gordon
Howard
AI2

Of course, we all know that the final "battle" will be between Emeka and Gordon. I would like that Emeka wins it.

I pick Okafor because he is a major part of the CHA team. Ben Gordon is good but not as good as Okafor.

Nah, you had some good points in your posts, but this is just how I see it and I understand you don't agree with me
About the overhyped thing: that message board stuff sounds really gay when I read now, but it's kind of true, still. I visit wcremix.com regularly and you can see who's overhyped immediately(or maybe this isn't the right word I'm using, being bandwagoned (?) comes close too). At the beginning of the season you saw a lot of Suns wallpaper, then Josh Smith and now Ben Gordon.

Off-topic but during the draft period i was hoping the Bobcats could get both of them seeing both played in Uconn.... wat do u think would happen if both were on the same NBA team?

yep ceekay, the message board stuff sounds gay

sit- i think if gordon and okafor were teammates, say on the bobcats... i think the team would be doing better then it is now. gordon is better then any other perimeter player on the current bobs roster, scoring wise. and problaby i'm guessing that their transition to the pro game would be easier or at least those 2 would get some easy buckets off of each other since they were college teammates.

Gentle Ben will win it. Emeka Okafor posts double-double because he starts. Gordon wins games for the Bulls and that's what it comes down to.

Okafor can be a 20-20 player and it would be meaningless if Charlotte doesn't win while a 15-3-3 player that propells his team to the playoffs does.

Gordon wins. Hands down.

Chicago's sitting pretty while Charlotte is vying for #1 in the draft.

What do you expect form a Expansion team? Nobody thought they could get 10 wins in the whole season. It's not hands down Gordon :scold:

Their record is about average for an expansion team. The only team to get fewer than 10 wins in an 82 game season wasn't a team in its inaugural season.

I will give Emeka his due. He is the team's leader so he's expected to contribute for his team and he's doing exactly that.

Gordon is coming off the bench and in high gear for the Bulls. He's a factor all of his own. He's a special player for the Bulls and Emeka Okafor isn't that kind of player. Anybody can get 15-10 in the paint. Hell, Tyson Chandler is doing that off the bench so Emeka Okafor winning ROTY isn't very likely.

It'll either fall to Iguodala or Gordon. Okafor and Howard are just getting gimme points.

Gordon's been fairly unimpressive lately, just a minor glitch I'd assume.

Yea, he get's a lot of up and downs, he'll have games like 30 points, 6 points, 9 points, then 20 points, 22 points, 11 points etc etc..

So, getting slam dunks and little two footers aren't gimme points? That sounds just like Emeka to me.

He's been like that the whole year, this month has actually not been too bad, but not enough games, so 1 game changes the month stats. Check out January, February was probably his best month. In March he did okay, only like 1 game under double digits, but he shot very poorly, just took more shots than usual, so his PPG didn't have many big dropoffs.

Don't forget Dwight Howard though:

March: 14 points and 12 rebounds

April so far: 17 points and 11 rebounds
