Good news, Stock is worth such kind of tribute. (Y)

Props to Mr Miller for honoring one of the building blocks of his franchise.

Now all that remains are the statues of Malone and Sloan...

I wonder how big the shorts will be.

Thu Mar 31, 2005 10:35 am

As he wore them, Merilyn Monroe style :D

Thu Mar 31, 2005 11:17 am

this is a damn good thing imo. the man was basicly the perfect point guard.

Thu Mar 31, 2005 11:45 am

Wonder if the mormons will move Jesus' statue next to Stock... maybe they can worship both of them.... do mormons foolow basketball???

Thu Mar 31, 2005 1:02 pm

nope..they're more on hitting the road and selling stuff into houses..they never have time to do basketball...whats up with their basketball ccourts in their churches anyways :?:

Thu Mar 31, 2005 1:06 pm

They have basketball courts in their churches??? Well, i wouldnt mind having a marble spa! (Y) Those guys sure know how to relax..

Thu Mar 31, 2005 1:11 pm

they have marble spa? those guys are good........atleast they know how to throw away their money...unlike some churches out there.....who just keep the gold in some castle.........anyways they have basketball courts........very good courts just besides their churches...but i never saw them play some hoops though

Thu Mar 31, 2005 1:27 pm

yep marble spas! and i heard most of their temples are very luxarious...

Thu Mar 31, 2005 1:29 pm

is j.stock o mormon?
if so poeple in utah have a more valid reason to adore him. and gave him a statue (Y)

Thu Mar 31, 2005 1:42 pm

No... but him, karl and sloan have been in mormon land together for 18-19 years... i thoguht theyd be converted by now... -_-"

Thu Mar 31, 2005 1:51 pm

mormon land LOL
well sloan is still there i guess.....anyways playing basketball doesnt have to get you to change your faith..karl and stock has proven that........if my memory serves me right i think only the great MJ has a statue? right?
they never showed any love for wilt?

Thu Mar 31, 2005 1:53 pm

lmao... that is true... man, will Karl get his statue soon??? but no, i wasnt being too serious about them changing faiths but the influence would have been huge and maybe they were offered to change... u never know

I think both are real deep religous guys anyways...

Thu Mar 31, 2005 1:58 pm

if the statue trends gets going.....then malone might get one for himself.....wonder will PHil Jackson get a statue too since He has the most title rings in the NBA!!!

But where will they put it??? In Chitown or LA??? Or in Madison Square Garden maybe????

Thu Mar 31, 2005 2:47 pm

It's a nice way to pay tribute to a player who has meant so much to a franchise. Glad to hear that Karl Malone will be honoured the same way next season, both he and Stockton did a lot for the Jazz and were amazingly consistent and durable players for almost two decades.

Thu Mar 31, 2005 3:10 pm

why in new york? my guess will be in CHItown and LA.both cities....another one in utah wont hurt too.....reminds them who was in town in the 2 years they almost tasted the championship j/k  .....i never get to see the zen master as an nba player but as a coach he did a pretty good job.....also credit that to his coaching staff...they all did a great job (Y)

Not Malone. I have yet to see a black mormon walk this earth. I'm sure the Mormons would have extreme reservations about that...

wonder will PHil Jackson get a statue too since He has the most title rings in the NBA!!!

You're forgetting about old Red...

Thu Mar 31, 2005 7:58 pm

Red doesnt like Phil either...

Fri Apr 01, 2005 7:30 am

red was basicly the smartest man in basketball history imo.

Sat Apr 02, 2005 6:52 am

A Challis statue of Karl Malone is set to join Stockton’s sometime next year

Good stuff! Now, I'm wondering what John Stockton will be doing (most likely passing) and I can see Karl either dunking or recieving the ball (not likely)

Most likely a one handed Tomahawk with the other hand behing his head... trademark move...
