How many of you have made them, and if you have how manyhave you made? I just made my first today, just behind Half-court at the end of the first.

I've done it a bunch of times in practice or whatever, never in a game though. I hit a 3 in England from about 3 metres out shooting normally in a game, that was a bit odd cause I didn't think I'd get the distance let alone the accuracy.

strangely i have had alot of luck with half-court shots in my life, in like 7th grade i nailed one at the end of the first half. and then last year i had 2 of them on consecutive games once at the end of the 1st and once at the end of the 3rd. it makes you feel good, the crowd goes nuts! i cant dunk so i guess thats the short white mans version of a dunk.

 I'd agree with that actually.

The only things I've really done in games that'd make the crowd some what interested would be shot blocking, certain passes I've pulled off before (i.e in England: in the post behind the back bounce pass for an alley-oop to someone else.. I was kinda proud of that) and I set some pretty big picks back in the day. I used to like trying to knock people over with my shoulder, and managed to find a way to make it look legal. If I tried to do it these days though I'd probably just end up getting hurt.

I made a stupid one, under the opposite basket when I was younger.

I throwed the ball, but I wasn't strong enough at that time. So the ball hit the ground on the opposite free-throw line, and went in :D This is the kind of thing you can't do twice :D

Oops sorry, being so eager to relate this one I forgot to mention that I made this shot just when playing ball with a friend, it wasn't even an one on onee :)

I only attempted a 3 point shot buzzerbeater in my "carreer", but I missed it. Maybe because the guy defending on me had his fingers in my eye :o

i remember during this rec game when i was in like 6th grade or something, there was like 4 secs on the clock, we were actually up by one and the other team was pressing, i got the ball around our foul line, and the other guys on the team were coming at me, so i just chucked it at the other side of the court, and it was like "swish", everyone just stood still for a second before going crazy. i've also made half court shorts, not running ones, just stand still at half court and shoot it like a 3 pointer, made several during games, and pratice as well. and won some stuff during contests too :)

yep.. i made a few... most rtecent was last year about half a year ago, in a game where our dumbass benchwarmer didnt know wat to do and was busy asking the ref while the clock ticked down and i was feeling it cause i already had a hatrick of threes... so he wasted 3 seconds of gametime and when i took hte ball off him i shot a little after the buzzer sounded two steps behind half court and swished.. but it didnt count. I was real angry but hey, its only a game and half our team sucked anyways!

I would of thought you would have enough muscle to do it. I mean jerking your brother off builds muslce for you, right?

i guarentee you i am the best half court shooter in this board. my traveling AAU team (we won 4 national championships in a row) had an entire week one week totally devoted to learning how to shoot from halfcourt. i can make probably 6 or 7 out of 10 every time from half court.

 i am shocked to hear a team practice half court shots? when i was coaching i trained in the last seconds inbound or "to score within 2 seconds" shot. but i leave the half court shots altogether 8-)

its not like it was a regular practiced thing. we practiced year round, and this was a week of practicing during the offseason.

The only ones I've made are from elemantary school...

I was never really in an organized game though, so no.

But hopefully if/when I make the basketball team I'll get my share of buzzer beating shots. Because I watched some of my school's games before and theres no shot clock above the baskets (you have to look at the scoreboard on the wall) and a lot of players don't even know how much time left and the buzzer sounds with no shot. :| That sucks. If it were me I would ALWAYS know what the time was, and always screw up my stats attempting buzzer beating shots..

Better than mine, we have a little scoreboard where the time is barely visible because it's so small and no shotclock. Teah only way I knew was that my teammates were counting down teh time.
