he is a guard
so he competes with-
-kobe
-mcgrady
-nash
-ray allen
-bibby ( w/o C-Webb now)
- baron davis

unless he puts up mvp like numbers or those guys get traded east i doubt he will be one. It doesn't mean he can't be a good player in the future thoguh

absoloutly j-rich will be an allstar.

he is really turning in to a good player and the warriors are doing a good job building around him with baron davis, and troy murphy really improving. the warriors are probably a trade and a draft pick away from being pretty decent, and j-rich will get his due.

J-Rich should have beat Manu imo. It was only because of Popovic. At the time Richardson was the highest scoring player(22.1 ppg) to not be selected an all-star.

but his team record was/is bullshit......biggish stats doesnt mean u'll make the all-star game......(yes here it comes again)....but if that was the case Dre should have been starting for the East back in his IIIrd Season.

As long as he puts up the same numbers next year and GS stays around the .500 mark, he's going to be in the ASG in 06. He's just abour ripe, and the people like him because of his dunk contest shows. I'm not saying he's going to be voted into the starting 5 of te West, but he's going to get the coaches' nod if the aforementioned prerequisites do occur.

Go Warriors go!!! :D

He's one of those guys who will put up nice numbers but probably won't get many All-Star selections because of the "perennials" ahead of him, leaving him to be a perennial snub - a candidate for ESPN's "All-Harper" team.

All Stars are not selected based on their team's records, MVP's are. In the All Star Game, the best individual players (or most popular) are selected, last year McGrady was an All Star too, while his Magic were struggling.

Richardson will be an All Star in the near future, maybe not a starter but I'm sure he'll get some recognition soon. By that time his team record won't even matter anymore, because the Warriors are going in the right direction.
And Andre Miller never really deserved to be an All Star, he was pretty good in his third season. Iverson, Jordan, Ray Allen, Baron Davis, Tracy McGrady and Paul Pierce were all better than him though.

Well deserved for J-Rich. I watched 3 of the Warriors' 4 games the past week. All are wins. (Y) (Y)

Actually yes they are, for the most part. If you have guys with similar numbers, but one guys team is much better, he gets it. You shouldn't get rewarded as an All-Star if your team sucks because it means your numbers aren't really having an impact.

McGrady is a guy that makes it even if his team sucks because the fans vote him it, but yes, team records are a factor in All-Star selection.

He's a good scorer and decent rebounder, but everything else, he's average in. He can be a star someday when his team is winning lots and he's putting up better numbers. But, I dont' think things will change anytime soon if the Warriors keep having losing seasons.

A decent rebounder? No. Sorry but he's a great rebounder for his position.

He's an average ballhandler, yes, but that is his only true weakness in his game. Richardson's defense has picked up tremendously since last season where he showed no defense. He now knows the right play (dunk/layup, extra pass, etc.) and he performs it without hesitation. His passing could be improved but it's above average, right now. I see no major weaknesses when he plays.

Congratulations to Richardson, he's deserved it.

Yea I agree, he's one of the best rebounder's at the guard position, so I wouldn't say just decent.

His defense has picked up, but he's still only an average defender, also he's not much of a playmaker in comparison to most other SG's, and the biggest problem, he's terrible at getting to the line.

People complained about how Vince didn't get to the line with all his athleticism, but he was stil lgoing 5+ times a game. J-Rich goes to the line 4.4 times a game, and he hasn't lost any athleticism from injuries. It's a part of his game he definately needs to work on.

It would not make much difference now as he's shooting just 69 % from the line. He really should crank it up if he wants to take advantage of being fouled more often...

Even then, getting to the line get's the other teams big's in foul trouble, if they have to use their backups, it makes it easier on your big men, and also opens up the lane for the rest of your perimeter players. Also, even at 69%, let's say he got to the line 5.8 or so times a game, he'd be averaging 1 more PPG, that's a huge difference.

I definitely think he will be an allstar eventually. He is coming out of a great conference in the west, but if you think about it he's pretty spectacular himself. He just never got recognition because his team is always going nowhere fast. Now that he has Baron Davis, hopefully some players (like Troy Murphy) will step up and Golden State can try to make an impact on the playoff scene. And let me just make it clear to everyone right now. If you make can put on a show for the fans, you will be an allstar.

well its a matter of who Yao's sidekick is, if it wasnt T-Mac and it was Dan Dickau he'll prolly make it to the all-star game.

But I agree there were people with better seasons than Dre's that season but team record does come into account(well not for this season cause it was just pure voting tally's).

Anyhow since George Karl has arrived hes made Dre play his natural game and that is to distribute the ball, hes prolly averaging around 7.5 APG since Karl took over but his points production has gone down. So hopefully next season Ill be seeing Dre at least Top 5 in the League APG Leaders. :D

But I think J-Rich's weakness is his range and his lack of D. But yeah the Warriors are playing well and I think he'll have a shot at the all-star game next season with the arrival of B-Diddy, cause they'll prolly have a better record come AS-Break next season.
