Lakers - No Playoffs?

Postby Ataraxia on Thu Mar 17, 2005 3:07 pm

I think the Lakers might miss the playoffs........the Nuggets are scorching right now and well the T-Wolves are keepin it at just above .500....the Lakers cant seem to really gather enuff energy to get a streak.

Just a question....when was the last time the Lakers missed the post-season?....

1994. Before then I think it was 1975, the season before they traded for Kareem.

Nothing has been decided yet with that dogfight likely to go on well into the season's final days, but I think it would be naive to suggest that there's no possibility that the Lakers will miss the playoffs this year.

It will be close right to the end....the Lakers, Wolves, and Nuggets....even the Clips are in range, but I doubt it. Which ever team can put some kind of streak together will do it....and if you asked me right now, I think the Nuggets will do it.

The Lakers need to get more out of Odom. Like all teams, they will need that 2nd scoring option...and Odom is the team's 2nd best player. The Lakers can't expect Kobe to score 40 every night.

everyone besides Kobe has been inconsistant. Atkins only scored 1pt yesterday (N), and its a lottery which lamar odom shows.

The road schedule is tough ahead... they are only 11-17 on the road???

First time since 1994, we goin to lottery if we do... second time since Magic was dfrafted... oh boy are we in for a crazy last few games... the pressure is on this team. But Denver has the better chance to take 8th place.

i think the lakers can do it if something drives them , they aren't a bad team , we need atkins , odom and the others to wake up. they played excellent without kobe , but they should also play the same way as they always do. my vote goes for t'wolves , i believe they will make a run in their last 15 games or so to win 10 or 11 of last 15.

Any team is capable of doing anything right now... Kobe is a player who can do anything if he puts his mind to it... so motivation isn't something thats out of the question. The Lakers need consistency from the role players and Kobe still needs to trust his teammates....

And did anyone say their defence is crap???

Odom's gotta take more than 9 shots a game for the team to have a good chance of winning.
