Davis was named Orlando's head coach back on November 17, 2003, taking over for Doc Rivers during the early part of the 2003-04 season. His Magic head coaching record was 51-84, including 31-33 this season. His overall head coaching mark, including one season at Philadelphia (1996-97), is 73-144.
Wow! He has an awful track record.
He's lucky they didn't get rid of him sooner..

Its just sad that in the nba, coaches always takes the fall if the team is not performing well. I think the magics downfall started when they traded mobley to a damage goods. They were very good when cat was there..

...its not as bad how the Warriors fire a new coach every couple years
Sat Mar 19, 2005 2:42 am
well at least it's expected that Warriors fire coaches all the time

Man, the 'gic have had more coaches than they've had wins.

Magic are right in the thick of the playoff race, and then they just change coaches. Brilliant timing.

they falled into a thick of the playoff race.. they weren't suppose to worry about the playoffs since things were going smooth before..

Phil Jackson says he might take the job up if the Magic approach him in the offseason, hes apparently intruiged by the chance to build a upcoming team(specially coaching Howard) so he can take the tag line of a coach who inherits good players and works a little magic and wins titles.
Interesting, if Saunders goes to NY(very likely) I think Jackson might take the Magic up if Weisbrod is willing to hire him, I dont think he's gonna join the Lakers again. The Lakers should try and hire Maurice Cheeks
