Shaq vs. Kobe Round III

Thu Mar 17, 2005 11:50 am

well, shaq won the first meeting, shaq's team won the 2nd meeting ( EAst vs. West) and right now miami is riding a 10 game winning streak leading into the big game where everyone is watching.
i would ask which team would win but it seems like that would be one sided, but a fairer question would be:
Who will have a better game? Shaq or Kobe?

Thu Mar 17, 2005 2:43 pm

meh, kobe gonna be laughing in a cpl o' months time when shaq does himself a mischief like always and den da heat go on a 30game losig streak and den da lakers get a better record and den the heat will be like o crap and den da lakers will be like aww yeah and den i'll be like i told ya so.

Thu Mar 17, 2005 2:45 pm

kobe will probably have a bigger night, but shaqs team will keep on rolling to win number 51.

:eh:

Kobe will have the better game.....Shaq's gonna have a good game too but Ithink Kobe's gonna go for/get a triple double.

I ran it through Gizoogle...

Meh, Kobe is going to be laughing in a couple of months time when Shaq does himself a mischief like always, and then the Heat will go on a 30 game losing streak. The Lakers will then get a better record, and the Heat will be like "oh crap" and then the Lakers will be like "aww yeah". I'll be like, "I told you so".

I admire your passion for the Lakers, but not only are the Heat on a roll right now, it's mathematically impossible for them to lose 30 of their last 16 games, or for the Lakers to have a better record this season.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kobe had a great scoring outburst with about 7 or 8 boards and a few assists thrown in for good measure, but I'm guessing Shaq will turn in an impressive performance across the board.

That was great Andrew

Don't know who will have the better game, but I know the Heat will win. The Heat have what, 13 straight at home, and 8th straight right now, while the Lakers just lost 2 in a row.

The matchup isn't as big a deal anymore, it's likely more of a big deal to LA than it is to Miami who likely don't care too much. The Heat are miles ahead of the Lakers right now, and latley have been playing like the best team in the league while the Lakers have just been surviving.

Thu Mar 17, 2005 4:07 pm

where is it gonna be played?
at Heat's arena or Lakers?

Thu Mar 17, 2005 4:28 pm

Miami

Thu Mar 17, 2005 7:09 pm

I'd pick wade...

Kobe will play a great game.... Lakers will lose. Miami is on a roll... Los Angeles just arent ready to compete with them... unfortunately

Like everybody has been saying, Kobe will have a high scoring game, but Shaq's team will win.

yea same here

Fri Mar 18, 2005 8:24 am

Theres always that chance that the Lakers pull off a win... lol
But the chance is slim!

Fri Mar 18, 2005 10:00 am

THe Heat will take this one, it's obvious.

Fri Mar 18, 2005 11:02 am

do you guys think the heat and laker games will have this much hype in years to come , and draw this much attention , or will they always have this fued goin on even after 3 or 4 years?

Fri Mar 18, 2005 12:32 pm

Kobe and the lakers need to win to ignite some interest in the feaud. If the Heat continue to win and the Lakers struggle, no one will bother with it.

Fri Mar 18, 2005 1:24 pm

ummmm i don't understand that post kevC but yea anways no real confrontation between shaq and kobe. kobe's been shooting llike crazy.

Fri Mar 18, 2005 1:59 pm

Well the Heat won 102-89, and Kobe's current streak of 2nd half struggles continued as he went 1-11 in the 2nd half in this game. Kobe had 21 points in the first half, but was unable to get anything going in the second and finished with 26 points.

It was a good game for a while, but the Heat just took over late in the game, and closed it out. Chucky Atkins played very well offensively, and Odom also did well offensively to start the game.

Fri Mar 18, 2005 4:10 pm

Flash is just incredibly quick and aggressive. Man, that guy works his butt off, and I love his putbacks. That one-handed dunk was sweet! I don't think anything happened between Shaq and Kobe...

Btw,

"I think we're at our best when the odds are against us," Bryant said.

wtf? :? The Lakers lost, so I don't see how he can justify that comment.
