2003 NBA All-Star Game

Good, but disappointing at the same time. Face it, the east don't got their best players and Isiah Thomas doesn't know how to coach. You don't bring in your bench players who are cold at a crucial time in the game such as the 2nd OT. The west however, knew what the were doing that's why they came out with the win. Thomas also didn't divide the minutes evenly amongst his players...the same goes to Adelman. Jordan's amazing last shot should've ended the game but Jermaine had a ridiculous foul. Kobe couldn't have made that shot anyway. He was fading a 3 out of bounds. Also, shouldn't the time had expired since the clock was stopped when Kidd had the ball right before Jordan's shot? The referees should not have called the foul on Jermaine and end the game already. I mean don't they tend to do that? It wasn't a severe foul to start with, barely had body contact in my opinion. It would have been more memorable ending with Jordan's game-winner. You have to honor a true icon such as the likes of one Michael Jordan. Obviously there wasn't any respect at all. However, the halftime show was very emotional.

yeeeep..i agree. Jermaine is a real fool..but this proves a hard fact...the world of professional sports doesn't always have a happy and magical ending. With each of jordan's retirements..he capped them with something grand..it looks like this final curtain won't drop like this. Very sad for Jordan fans indeed.

That was a wicked game. I totally thought it was going to suck after the first two quarters because it seemed quite boring..but boy did it ever pick up!

Jermaine O'Neal..man what can I say?..the stupidest foul I've seen in a long time..no disputing it either..the refs HAD to call that one. Ruined a perfect ending for #23..but oh well!

As for VC giving up his starting spot..as much as I don't like the guy..in the end I don't think he should have given it up. It made him look like more of a fool after spending the whole last week and a half saying how "a man's got to keep his word" and how it's insulting to the fans that voted for him. Besides, it was obvious, judging by his performance, MJ definitely wasn't read to start!

I think the biggest mistake made by Thomas was bringing Carter to guard KG. That cost the East the game as KG then went on to score as he pleased, putting on an absolute show. Big mistake made by Jermaine and it cost MJ another great game winner. The East didn't hesitate to go to Jordan in the clutch, I mean who else could you go to? Congrats to the west the played just as good as the East and deserved the win. Great All star game, best in years.

WHAT THE HELL??

Thomas doesn't know how to divide minutes at all

Iverson gets 41, Ilgauskas gets 4

it's and all star game and players should get more than 4 minutes, especially since the game goes into dbl OT

He defiantely deserved more then that. He is having the best year of his career and he gets 4 minutes in the All Star game. When he is the East's best centre that is just wrong.

Thomas fucked up Jordan... O'Neal's an idiot... Some guys didn't even play 10 minutes... I didn't like this ASG...

That one, if I'm not mistaken, from 2 years ago, when Iverson was the MVP, was a far better game IMO...

That didn't cost the game...Carter was the next tallest player to Ben Wallace, and Ben Wallace had to cover Shaq or Tim Duncan. It's Isiah Thomas' fault for putting four guards and a undersized center on the court...a lineup of Zydrunas, O'neal, and Ben Wallace would have worked out well as a defensive unit with Pierce and Kidd at the guard spots...but since Thomas favors guards, he put out four of them on the court...two of which he basically ignored the entire game (Carter and Pierce). It's not Carter's fault Garnett's at least six inches taller than him...

now why the hell would ya just decide to miss free throws, i mean yes, it would of been a great ending for jordan and stuff.

but as a competitor hes not just gonna decide to miss them(even though it did look like he missed one on purpose)

and leave jermaine oneal alone, its not like it was for the nba championship, bloody hell!

it was just a all-star game, a game for fun (obviously, with a score of 155-145_

It isn't Carter's fault... But I wonder why Thomas kept that lineup in the 2 OT... Total nonsense...

Damn Kobe for making those foul shots.
Damn Jermain O'Neal for making that stupid foul.
Damn the refs for not ending the game and called the foul.
Damn MJ for making his shot look so incredible and yet the East had to lose like that.
Damn Thomas for not playing Big Z.
Damn Big Ben for grabbing only 6 boards.
Damn every East player that played the second OT for playing so poorly.
Damn me for saying so many damns.

OK, anyway, it's good that they actually played this time instead of fooling around like last time (or many times before). :D

Yes it did. They had just as much chance as the West to win before KG went on that streak.

It's not Carter's fault Garnett's at least six inches taller than him...

I know it's not. I didn't say it was. It was Thomas's fault for having Carter guard KG, instead of Jermaine or Wallace.

O'neal was on the bench for his stupid foul...so you'd rather Carter guarded Duncan or Shaq?
