hey how come you don't play yourself that much?
you average around a quarter per game, right?
Mon Mar 14, 2005 6:49 pm
i'd say it's realism to gradually break the rookie in....and besides, his guy is similar to Odom I'd imagine so you don't want to have 2 similar guys in frontcourt....I expect his minutes will gradually increase as the season wears on....
EDIT: Forgot to say congrats on the 1000 replies....to another 9000 more

New York Knicks (3-2) @ Los Angeles Lakers (3-2)
Game Preview
Lakers are coming of a sorry lost in the hand of Minnesota Timberwolves. In that game, the Lakers jumped to a great start but unable to protect their lead in the 2nd half. The duo of Bryant and Odom still do wonders for the Lakers but need to get more from their teammates to avoid their 1st losing streak this season.
Knicks meanwhile are on a 2 game losing skid after winning their first 3 game. Jamal Crawford led the Knicks in scoring while Tim Thomas average double figures both in scoring and rebounding.
This game will feature two all-star guards in Kobe Bryant and Stephon Marbury. But the supporting cast will be a great factor on which team will win this game.
Game Recap

Lakers got a huge game from Lamar Odom,
led the lakers with his 27 points and 19 big
rebounds
The game was close in the 1st quarter with both teams shooting pretty well in the field. Lakers were lead by Odom who scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Tim Thomas, on the other hand paced the Knicks with his 6 points. The game was tied 22-all despite Marbury only played limited minutes due to early foul trouble. In the 2nd quarter, Marbury recovers from a bad start and led a 12-4 run to give Knikcs a 6 points lead. But Bryant and Odom once again team up and put the Lakers back in front. Odom led the Lakers with 14 points and 9 rebounds while Kurt Thomas had a huge game for the Knicks, tallying 9 points and 11 rebounds. Lakers led, 49-45 at halftime.
Knicks made their first 4 shots in the 2nd half but the Lakers still lead the game, 55-53. Lakers tried to pull away with Odom and Bryant leading the charge for the Lakers. But their efforts were answered by Knikcs backcourt duo of Crawford and Marbury. In the end, the Lakers hold on to their lead, 72-67 going to the final canto. Led by Bryant and Alston, Lakers pull away in the 4th period. They extended their lead to 13 points and never looked back. Kurt Thomas tried to put the Knicks back but proved that he can’t do it alone. Odom led the Lakers to win with his 27 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists performance. Kurt Thomas 21 points and 16 rebounds led the Knicks, who now lost 3 straight games. Lakers win it, 101-90.

PiksS vs. Lionheart

PiksS (left) showed his quickness and dunking ability for this dunk. Lionheart (right)
goes for powerful dunk after posting Gromuls
Nov 12 Sat --Rihards Gromuls, the 3rd pick in this year NBA draft, showed he’s one of the complete player in this draft class. Battling a 7’0 center, Gromuls displayed his agility and quickness going to the basket. He also showed his athletic ability and control in mid-air to win this game.
Dela Cruz, on the other hand, started the game pretty well but showed he need to improve his stamina as he worn out as the game progresses. He made all his baskets down low, either by a lay-up or thunderous dunk. But limited range and dribbling skill was few of the reasons why he lost this match-up.
Gromuls made his 1st shot driving to the basket. But in the next possession, Dela Cruz blocked his shots and got the ball. It was the start of 6 straight baskets for Dela Cruz, most of them posting the smaller Gromuls. But he made a crucial error when he picked up his dribble and forced to make a jumpshot way out of his range. This opportunity gave Gromuls chance to cut the deficit. After that, it was all Gromuls as he display different moves and exposed Dela Cruz weakness, speed and stamina. Dela Cruz never gave up a good fight in the end as he was too slow to react. Gromuls finished the game on 10-0 run for an 11-6 win against Dela Cruz.
Gromuls will now advance to the 2nd round and will face the winner of Biason-Jackson match-up.
