u got guys in the 2nd Rd that are rated higher than my #4 draft pick in my draft
glad to see I'm going to Kings....did they actually draft me or did u dbf edit it?!? I would have liked to see everywhere go where they got picked but ahh well, u can't have everything....
what's Kings' depth at SG like? just behind Mobley?!? I think my guy is gonna be a Jon Barry-type player for Kings

L.A. gets Milicic in deal
Baker, Vujacic to Motor City
Milicic will now have the playing time
that eluded him the past 2 years
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Aug 17 -- Los Angeles started its makeover Friday by trading Vin Baker and sophomore Sasha Vujacic to the Detroit Pistons for Darko Milicic.
"We got a backup center who can probably play a little bit of power forward, and we got much younger in the frontcourt," Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said.
The Pistons also received 2 conditional first-round draft pick and cash in the deal.
"We're happy to get the service of Darko. We knew this player, given the opportunity, will become one of the important player in this league in the coming years," Kupchak said.

Darko Milicic, the 2nd overall pick in 2003 draft, never had the chance to show his talent in the past 2 years. He was playing behind guys like Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace, Memo Okur and Antonio McDyess during his NBA career.
In last draft, Pistons picked Johan Petro, another big man that will fight minutes with Darko for the Pistons rotation. So he demanded a trade, a demand he also expressed in the past 2 years. But this time he's more vocal about the demand.
Many teams expressed their desire to get Darko but the Lakers win it by giving up 2 players, 2 future 1st round pick and big cash.
Vin Baker was acquired last year in Medvedenko trade and on his final year of his contract. It was the reason why they want Baker in this deal.
Sasha Vujacic, on the other hand, was Lakers last year 1st round pick. He played sparingly as a backup for the Lakers. Pistons wants to get him as GM Dumars believed Vujacic will be great project to be a great point guard in the future.
"We like to thank both players for their contributions to the team, but it’s an opportunity to pick a player that will help us not only this season but for the next couple of years," Kupchak said.

Good one. Make him improve.
I've been eyeing him too. wanted him as an SF though.

thanks for checking my dynasty
I will try to improve him. though i know its unrealistic trade coz Pistons will never give up Darko and just getting sasha and old Baker...
also i think he's too slow to be a SF and i already have too many SF.

nice, i really like these trades, espically the darko one, make him at least average double digits in points. and jacobson should bring nice shooting range as well.
Thu Mar 03, 2005 5:28 am
You're right, the Pistons would probably not trade away Darko for a one-legged ex-PF-trned C-that-can't-even-do-that-right and a Dejan Bodiroga wannabe, but it's great for you(and Darko)
Casey is a good trade. Can shoot 50% on 3s a season if you rotate the ball properly and give him open looks, as he is too slow off the dribble to create his own shots. Use him like the Bulls used Steve Kerr, and you'll open up defences for some inside play.

i go over the board, doing 1 unrealistic trade to get darko

thanks.
he will be the main back-up of Mihm at center and and be the 1st replacement if Mihm got injured (Mihm=injury=prone)
jacobsen was a great shooter but i gave a lot to suns.
jacobsen (rating=53) jones (rating =60)

yeah, that trade is so unrealistic.
but hey i gave them lots of cash
and i will give them my 1st round pick this season.
thats the main reason why i get Casey, he's 3-point rating was 80 plus...
he will be my kerr in this Lakers

Lakers Acquire 3 Raptors Players for George and Dooling
Rael Alston will be reunited with his
former Heat teammates.
EL SEGUNDO, Calif, Sep 5 -- The Los Angeles Lakers have acquired guard Raef Alston, center Rafael Araujo and guard Roger Mason Jr. from Toronto Raptors in exchange for forward Devean George and Keyon Dooling, it was announced today.
This move gave the Lakers the much needed upgrade in their point guard position and also strengthen their inside defense. But to have that, they have to give 2 of their important players to the Raptors. Raptors, on the other, will get an athletic and good shooter in George. They also are able to get a young and quality point guard in Keyon Dooling to replace Raef Alston.
George had just signed a 2-year deal last month and was a vital part in Lakers rotation. He is the main player coming of the bench and was a part-time starter for the Lakers last season. He really like playing in Los Angeles but also hinted the Lakers management that he wanted to be a starter in a team. But with Lakers planning on moving Odom back to small forward position with Butler as his back-up, the only role the Lakers can give him is Bryant’s back-up. He might get the starting job in Raptors.

Raef Alston knew he will be in new home this season, having trouble in his 1 year stint in Toronto. He signed with the Raptors hoping to play along side Carter. But after Vinsanity got trade to the Nets, Alston demanded a trade and got into verbal fights with Coach Mitchell a couple of times last season. Now he will be reunited with his former teammates Odom, Butler and Grant. They all played in Miami 2 seasons ago.
Raptors demanded Dooling in this trade, to replace Alston’s starting position. Dooling was acquired by Lakers last February in exchange for Luke Walton. He showed he got bright future, improving in every aspect of his game. He will be a great part of the Raptors future.

Rafael Araujo will be another big body to
help Lakers inside game.
Both Rafael Araujo and Roger Mason Jr. served as salary fillers in this trade. Both players may not be wearing the purple and gold jersey before the season start.
Araujo, the 10th pick in 2004 NBA Draft, was named 2nd All-Rookie team. But with Raptors getting Andrew Bogut in this year draft, Raptors were willing to let go him to get their starting small forward. In Lakers, he will fight minutes with Mihm and newly-acquired Milicic in center position.
Mason Jr., according to a source will be waive and let other team utilize his little talent.

skip skip to my lou, wow this is good but this means that Atkins will come of the bench yes?
Thu Mar 03, 2005 9:44 am
Alston's fun to play with... in my Toronto dynasty (wrecked that team with too many trades, totally lost the feel to the team), he was the league leader in steals and second in assists. Won defensive player of the year that season. He can also give you some much needed baskets down the stretch,
Thu Mar 03, 2005 9:49 am
nice, there goes like half of your team, but i think you should do much better the next season.
out of all the trades, i really like the rafer alston trade, he can really tear up teams. had at least 20, 5, 10 everytime i played him
Thu Mar 03, 2005 12:09 pm
SKIPPY IN LA I"M LOVING IT
Thu Mar 03, 2005 2:46 pm
nice trades micchy

way to go in getting milicic, you fooled dumars there

milicic will be a nice project for your team, i think he's got lot's of potentials...
about jacobsen, i dont know coz i prefer jones over him coz jones is also athletic but who knows, casey can develop into a deadly shooter.
it's good to see you've acquired a good point guard in rafer alston but i also dont know, he's more of a scorer than being a point guard. but your season 2 will be interesting...... of course, i'll keep an eye on it
Thu Mar 03, 2005 3:18 pm
You got SKIPPY! He'll be a solid player, hopefully Darko will improve. Good as always
Thu Mar 03, 2005 8:30 pm
nice moves their micchyboy....pistons really gave up on Darko....ahh well, your gain I guess

I like the jacobsen deal and I also like you shipping devean away....
3 trades that should really help your team

i like darko and he'll be a wste of talent if he stay in Pistons (in real life and in my dynasty)
yes jones is more athletic but i love 3 point shooting
alston will be an upgrade for my PG position and i love his quickness and outside sniping.

Lakers, Hornets Swap Forwards
Mason Jr. dealt again
Chris Andersen will do the dirty work for
the Lakers and maybe some powerful dunk.
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Sep 8 -- The Los Angeles Lakers announced today that they completed a 3-player deal with the New Orleans Hornets. Lakers traded forward Brian Cook and newly acquired Roger Mason Jr. to the New Orleans Hornets for Chris Andersen
This will be the fourth trade of Lakers this off-season and will mark the 8th new players to wear Lakers jersey in this coming season.

Chris Andersen, signed as a free agent by the Hornets last season after spending his first 2 seasons with Nuggets, will give Lakers another player who likes to do the dirty work inside the court. He’s a decent low post defender, good rebounder and will be an intimidating presence down low for the Lakers. He can also give Lakers some offense and excitement with his power dunks.
Brian Cook will leave Lakers after spending his first 2 seasons. He showed great improvement last season esp. with his offensive skills, specifically his outside shooting. But Lakers drafted Russel Santos, a player who plays just exactly like him. The team decided its time for Cook to go and continue to develop playing in other team.
Roger Mason Jr. once again served as salary filler in this trade. He was acquired 4 days ago in the George-Alston trade.
