ESPN

As most of us know, EA has the rights to the ESPN license that sega once owned. Now im not sure if its been covered in the wishlist (i couldnt be fucked reading it all) so if it has, please delete this thread (Y).

Now sega imo was reaching great heights with its level of presentation in the espn nba series. I think this is a pretty big question mark, as nba live was good in 98 with the tnt license, but its been 7 years ( :!: ) since they have had a tv license in their games... any thoughts on how they will go with the espn license? Will they have more than 2 commentators (like 6 or 7, and switch them around from game to game) or will it be nothing more than a new score overlay?

I couldn't say for sure, but if they've got a deal with TNT (or at least a couple of guys from TNT) and ESPN, that should surely improve the commentary with Marv and someone (Steve Kerr, perhaps?) for some games, and an ESPN team for others. However, I've got a feeling it will just be a couple of guys from ESPN.

EA should use both TNT and ESPN for commentary and presentation.

Like some games are shown on TNT, like normal games, and ESPN only shows big and important games and stuff.

So if you play Bobcats vs. Bulls, the AI will know both teams suck, and it will use the TNT presentation and comentary.

If you play Suns vs. Spurs the game will be good, so the AI will use ESPN for that game.

Like the idea???

(If it is true about EA owning the rights to TNT and ESPN.)

I didn't think TNT showed only low profile games - they do, after all, show the whole of All-Star Weekend. And Chicago isn't doing so bad this year. :P

I think TNT 's NBA presentation is much better than ESPN's. I like the TNT analyst better and I like the halftime reports better on TNT. I liked when Snapper Jones and Bill Walton used to work together on NBC but other than that, TNT has David ALdridge now, Doug Collins, Steve Kerr, Marv and a host of others(Kevin Harlan & Dick Stockton). I only care for Walton(sometimes) Snapper and ABC's Jack Ramsey.
Those guys are my favorite on any Basketball broadcast team.

I'de like to se halftime and postgame show like espn nfl got .. It's pretty insightful to. I love the ideas of two different networks. But I guess it all depends on how much they base the game on espn. I would be pretty strange if there was epsn this, espn that, and then tnt comes outta nowere just for the allstar weekend ..

I hope we could choose ourself between ESPN's and TNT's because I like them both... I'd be happy if they could make both of them, then we could switch when we want... (Y)

thats like in madden you get some of the worst teams in your secound year playing on Monday night. The best teams should get the Tnt games.

it'd be great if the game looked TV like with the logos and such. I doubt we'd get more than 3 commentators, although that'd be good. New stats would kick ass!

I'm probably the only one who want this .. When you play longer games, like 6+ minutes a quarter, there should be fake commercial breaks just to get that "we be right back" feeling. They don't actually have to view any commercials and you should be able to skip it just like any other cut-sceen of course..

or maybe some sort of sideline report kinda like in madden. They report at the beginning of the game some random "coach's view" and also chime in on injuries that happen during the game or something during timeouts.
