(AP) - LeBron James received permission Wednesday to resume playing high school ball, when a judge blocked a state ruling that had stripped him of his eligibility. Summit County Judge James R. Williams said James could rejoin his team but must serve a two-game suspension. James, a senior at St. Vincent-St. Mary, has already missed one game after the Ohio High School Athletic Association declared him ineligible for accepting free sports jerseys valued at $845 from a store.
I knew this would happen, but it would be nice if he couldn't come back so everyone coouldn't make anymore money off of him.

And we wonder why athletes think they are above the law. This is clearly an example of special treatment.

If you have enough money to hire a good lawyer you can get away with practically anything.... even murder (OJ Simpson)! How the hell Lebron was able to get a hold of a new hummer (provided by Chris Mills) when his mom clearly couldn't afford it is beyond me.

good to see, man y wont they leave him alone, if some aerage college/high school player got all this stuff, no-one would care, but Lebrons fame is getting to be a bitch of a thing.
Even when he gets new clothes I spose everyone is like " Oh where did he get those from, lets ban him!"

Actually, if it was college the player would lose all eligibility, and it could be anyone, from the practice team to the starting lineup. The same goes for high school, but it's a bit harder to catch stuff like that because of family and friends being so close; however, the sporting goods store that gave James the jerseys were using him for future profit, and that's the reason the state had a problem with it.
I don't think it's fair, as James' high school is making a ton of cash off of him, as are all the college teams...but those are the rules. I may be off on some of those, but I don't think so.

well fair enough, i live in australia so i dont really understand how the rules of high shool and college go over there, but to suspend him for the season(which is cut to 2 games now pfew!) was a bit overboard.
But like they said, if he was using his fame for gifts and stuff, it would be more than a few jerseys.

I'm not sure that it's been cut to 2 games. I thought I'd heard that his lawyers had just made it possible for him to play untill the apeal was decided.

Lebron James' suspension was silly from the beginning.
The owner of a sport store took some pictures of him and gave him the jersey as a salary (this is probably what James' lawyers claimed).
About the H2, as far as I know his mama took a loan from the bank and bought the H2 for his 18th birthday.

Yeah, that's true, but I also read that James' mother has horrible credit and shouldn't have been able to get the loan for $75,000...they gave the loan because James is supposed to be making millions this time next year.

Which is still legal, because the rules don't seem to fully cover a situation like that. They don't take into account the reasons for a loan being granted, and since it was a present from his mother, there's no violation.
