I'm a little late, but nevertheless...
Philadelphia acquires Matt Barnes, Michael Bradley and Chris Webber
Sacramento gets Brian Skinner, Kenny Thomas and Corliss Williamson
As I said in the original thread, a great deal for Philadelphia, so-so move for Sacramento. The Kings probably could've gotten more for Webber, even if it meant keeping him until the end of the season.
New Orleans gets Glenn Robinson
Philadelphia acquires Jamal Mashburn, Rodney Rogers
Another smart move by the Sixers. Mashburn will likely never play again but if he does, this deal may work out even better for Philadelphia. As it stands, they've picked up a capable veteran reserve in exchange for a guy who doesn't want to play for them. New Orleans might be able to make use of the Big Dog; or just get cap relief when his contract expires. Nice move on both sides, though Philly can benefit from it sooner rather than later.
Milwaukee acquires Reece Gaines, two second-round draft picks
Houston gets Zendon Hamilton, Mike James
I like this trade a lot more from Houston's point of view, though they do have a glut of point guards now. I'm surprised that the Bucks gave up James, though I don't think it makes a whole lot of difference as far as their record is concerned.
Milwaukee acquires Calvin Booth, Alan Henderson, cash
Mavericks get Keith Van Horn
No brainer: Dallas gets the better end of the deal. If they can get Henderson back, so much the better. Meanwhile, Van Horn joins team number five as part of what is quickly becoming an annual tradition.
Cleveland acquires Jiri Welsch
Boston gets first-round pick in 2007
Not much to say, except nice pickup for the Cavaliers.
New York acquires Maurice Taylor
Houston receives Vin Baker, Moochie Norris, second-round pick in 2006
Baker was clearly expendable; it's obvious the Knicks don't want to use him no matter what shape he's in. Taylor's a nice player to backup Sweetney, or perhaps even start until Sweetney is deemed ready to step into the starting role full time. Houston moves a disgruntled player, but continues to stock up on point guards.
Boston acquires Antoine Walker
Atlanta receives Gary Payton, Tom Gugliotta, Michael Stewart, future first-round pick
I'm surprised that the Celtics moved Payton, but it's a great deal if they get him back once/if the Hawks waive him and he's free to join them again. It'll be interesting to see if Walker's return to Boston is only temporary.
Golden State gets Baron Davis
New Orleans acquires Speedy Claxton, Dale Davis
As you'd probably expect, I'm not going to make a case for this being a great deal for the Hornets. Disgruntled or not, injured or not, Davis still has more market value than Dale Davis and Speedy Claxton. As soon as Davis is healthy, he can form a great backcourt with Jason Richardson though as many people have pointed out in the last couple of days, it's hardly the final piece for Golden State. Still, the Warriors got a steal here.
New York gets Malik Rose, conditional first-round draft picks in 2005, 2006
San Antonio acquires Nazr Mohammed, Jamison Brewer
Malik Rose is a good player, but he's 6'7". The Knicks are left without anyone resembling a true centre having made this deal. Since they traded away Norris as well, they're also without a backup point guard, unless Penny shifts back to the position during most of his time in Orlando. The Knicks' two trades aren't quite as bad as they first seemed, but they still don't look great either.
Nuggets acquire Eduardo Najera, Luis Flores, future first-round draft pick
Warriors get Rodney White, Nikoloz Tskitishvili
Spare parts for spare parts. At the risk of uttering some "famous last words", I don't think these are deals that will make or break either team.
Heat acquire Steve Smith
Bobcats get Malik Allen, cash
The Heat can afford to send Malik Allen for some veteran offense. Nice to see Steve Smith on a contender and back where he began his NBA career. Malik Allen gives the Bobcats a big body to replace Jamal Sampson.
