As a member of a band who doesn't have the most credible role (drummer),

being a drummer is an important part of a band. guess the back up singers can be booted and can be consider not important. but it doesn't mean that when you compose the songs you're the automatic leader. the leader is the one responsible in forming the band and talking to the media and making the scheds for practice and deciding the gimick.

i didn't say that axl was the glue but i pretty just guess him up to be the leader. but since jowe said he causes all sort of trouble then i guess he suck for GNR for him.

You know nothing, TOOLmac.

Yes, i know drummer is important, but i said he is least credible. Try widening your vocabulary.

This "leader" you speak of doesn't form the band, know why? Because there is no leader. Forming a band doesn't happen by one person thinking "You know what, i'm going to form a band!" It's a group of people who decide they should play together and form a band. There is no leader in this action.

The leader is responsible for talking to the media and making the schedule? No, he's not. You know why? Because there is no leader of a band. The person who plans schedules is called a manager... And last time i looked, bands don't have to talk at press confrences and delegate a "leader" to do all the talking. Deciding the gimmick is not up to any sort of leader either.

A band is a formation of people's personality and music style all mixed together into a bunch of music. (Sometimes some poeople in the band have more of an influence in the band's style than others, but the point still remains)

There IS such thing as a frontman though, he is normally the singer, and the camera normally focuses on him most because he's the one singing/talking/interacting with the crowd. And because of this, people automatically think singer's are the "leaders" of bands. Toolmac, this leader bullshit is all in your head, and isn't true.

well 2 guys have told me so far. but i still got it in my head though. that there is a leader of a band.(hell some guy made a song about it) maybe its differet in every region but even our brass band has a leader in our school ages ago. some bands may actually want to have equality but i became a leader of my own band back in HS. guess that's why in my opinion theres a leader in a band. (Y) you should experience it yourself.

Nas just dropped the video for Just A Moment (which is my favourite song off Streets Disciple) bout a week ago.

If you haven't already seen it, Allhiphop.com has got a link to it in the media section at the bottom of the page...

I think Nas sucks. He has a great flow and lyrics and everything...but hes such a attention ho.

Wed Feb 23, 2005 11:46 pm

i dont really think hes an attention ho but youre rite, theres is something about him that makes me like him less than other mcs that are on the same level. his lyrics are great, so is his flow, his voice is ok too, cant hate on the beats aswell...but theres something that i cant describe that makes me not feel him that much...i just cant figure out what it is.

can't you read jowe i haven't posted i'm in a brass band you just invented that to earn your self a burn.

Thu Feb 24, 2005 3:42 am

I hate him because he contridicts himself every other song (so does Pac but that's his personality).

Thu Feb 24, 2005 4:13 am

everyone contradicts themselves....not just Nas, and they do it all the time too! It happens when people are in diff moods (thus rap about diff stuff) or as they get older their POV's change.

Thu Feb 24, 2005 4:14 am

Yeah but sometimes it's even in the same song.

EDIT: I dn't know why I'm posting this here, but what did Dr. Nick change his name to?

Thu Feb 24, 2005 6:28 am

Nas isn't an attention ho, he just released a few bad songs when he was going through a rough time...

Ether is still the best diss record ever, I don't care what anyone says...

Real M-fucking G´s by Eazy E > Ether.

Dissing people who are way more populair then him (Kobe, Tiger Woods, Jay-Z etc...) is asking for attention. He should retire and smoke weed or something.

Jay-Z way more popular then Nas...

Like hes asking for attention, Nas destroyed Jay in that beef.

Thu Feb 24, 2005 1:23 pm

Well yeah, at the time Jay-Z was WAY more popular than Nas... he released 1 decent CD and then fell off the face of the Earth before he started "dissing" Jay-Z.

Thu Feb 24, 2005 1:28 pm

omg i cant believe it Head the guitarist for KoRn has quit, im completely shocked and some wat dissaponted

What you doin in my territory  :P

Nas released 1 classic CD (Illmatic) and then released countless great albums (apart from Nastradamus) and only a few months ago released another classic in Streets Disciple. And Jay was only more popular with the pop rap fans, real hip hop heads always and still do consider Nas the better rapper.

Thu Feb 24, 2005 1:45 pm

Regardless of whether it was mainstream popularity or not, Jay-Z was the more popular/recognized artist at the time.

As far as Illmatic goes... when I was in the middle of my 'rap phase', I bought that CD and to this day I still can't see the big deal with it. I mean I thought it was cool at the time, but the songs are boring and slow, and the lyrics aren't really much to write home about IMO.

Thu Feb 24, 2005 3:30 pm

Illmatic is a classic Jae, talk to any rap fan and he/she would agree with me.
