Coach Phil
Mihm
Booz
Odom
Bryant
Atkins

look impressive!!!

And that leaves the Lakers with Bobbit, Brown, Cook, Grant, Jones, Slava, Sasha and Luke. Not that impressive. They would need their starting 5 to do a lot of work.

I like trades, so, trade Booz to LA.

A bench of Grant, Cook, Luke, jones and Bobbitt is better than other team bench.
and with that trade, we get an upgrade with butlerthe only player contribute well for the lakers.

About Divac, can somebody tell me if it can happen
If Divac goes to Utah and they waive him, can Lakers get him back???

Which other team exactly because I don't really know who's going to score some well-needed points from that bench?

there it is, it just came up today. the reason i was skeptical about this thread at first was because insidehoops usually has every single rumor, and it wasnt there yet, but now it is.

I hope they get Boozer... IMO he would be the final peice of the puzzle! A solid 14 ppg and 10 rpg would be great from him!

 the final piece of being puzzled

In the All Star game, they announced a Odom for Peja and Jackson deal, which doesn't make sense and both teams denied the rumor.

According to Jack Haley (The one who brought up this trade) from Fox Sports Network (Lakers local station), the deal has been completed and is waiting for the leagues aprovement. Within the next 24/48 hours, the NBA will announce that the Lakers traded Caron Butler, Devean George and Vlade Divac to the Utah Jazz for Carlos Boozer.

I dont have a link, I got this from reliable Lakers forums who saw this on tv. Im not saying the trade has been done, but this sounds a little to much for just a rumor. We will see within the next 24 or 48 hours.

I can only hope.

Jack Haley wrote:"Well I have breaking news for the LA Lakers. Last night I reported the Lakers were close to making a trade, tonight I'm telling you that trade is going to go down. The Utah Jazz and the LA Lakers have come to an agreement on a trade. The Lakers giving up Vlade Divac, Caron Butler and Devean George. Utah giving back power forward Carlos Boozer. It's a big trade for the LA Lakers. What's holding it up? League approval. You won't hear about it for the next 24 hours, but as soon as it's approved...believe me, Carlos Boozer will be an LA Laker."

"One thing is FOR SURE, you will see Carlos Boozer in purple & gold"
Jack Haley "The deal has been agreed to, the only delay is the NBA league office has yet to approve it."

"It will take 24-48 hours to be announced"

"The deal is Vlade, Caron & George for Boozer"

"The Lamar Odom deal is dead"

woah......its a good trade but the Lakers have to hope Boozer doesnt create drama with Kobe....Boozer has a fiery personality.....but if Butler turns out to be a NBA flop......then I see the Lakers winning in this trade because Boozer is a monster on the court and thats what the Lakers need in the post.

Caron and George are good players, but I'm more concerned about Utah's inside strength. I guess Kirilienko might shift over to power forward (or have Collins and Okur starting). I'd like to see Humpries play more, as the guy has promise.

And poor Boozer, the guy's idol was Karl Malone, except Malone worked harder to stay in Utah and not get traded within a year.

Shareef Abdur Rahim would be a good pick since he is in the final year of his contract, but this player should be a "impact player" which I dont see in Shareef.

Wait, Boozer isn't an impact player either so how come you'd rather have him compared to a player that is just as capable (perhaps a bit more) to get 20 & 10 AND his contract is in it's last year? I'd rather have Reef opposed to Boozer who's not been an "impact player".

Boozer just sickened me with what he did to the Cavs, that was just sad.

haha the funny part is that Boozer will avoid having to go back to Cleveland this year if this trade goes through. So much for all the talk people was giving for when he returns back to cleveland.

i will welcome reef in LA if the player we will trade is brian grant....
it will still give the Lakers 20-10 and will give us salary flexibility.

other than that, even with booz personality, i think it will be great to hve him in lakers and just giving up butler... the other 2 was not a factor in this year.

now let wait for the NBA office to approve the trade!!!

Fox Sports's website confirms the report.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/3410834

i can't believe we're trading away butler.. he's doing so much better than odom but we're willing to take the risk.

LAMAR: This is your 3rd chance (2nd was when kobe got injured and you didn't do anything dominating except that golden state game). DONT SCREW IT UP

Fox Sports Net wrote:Fox Sports Net's Jack Haley is reporting the Lakers will trade Vlade Divac, Caron Butler and Devean George to the Utah Jazz in exchange for big man Carlos Boozer, pending league approval.
Trade rumors swirled around the Lakers all through All-Star Weekend in Denver, particularly forward Lamar Odom. One report Sunday said Odom had been offered to the Kings for All-Star forward Peja Stojakovic. And another said that Odom was dangled to Utah in a Boozer trade.

But the Los Angeles Times reported Monday that the Lakers said Odom had not been discussed in any trade talks.

The NBA's trade deadline is Thursday.

Butler and Odom, along with Brian Grant, were acquired by the Lakers last July from the Heat as part of the Shaquille O'Neal blockbuster. Divac came to the Lakers in an off-season attempt to help fill the void left by O'Neal's departure, but Divac has been injury-plagued and played only eight games all season.

Boozer spurned the Cavaliers in the off-season to sign a six-year, $68 million contract with the Jazz. He came under fire from the Cavaliers when they claimed he bolted for Utah after reneging on a verbal agreement to work out a long-term deal to stay in Cleveland.

And recently Boozer has also caught heat in Utah, with owner Larry Miller saying that he overpaid for Boozer "for what we expected."

Damn how much people underestimage Odom. I would definetly NOT trade him away, and even as I liked Butler, Boozer will be helluva presence next to Odom. And with Kobe as the leading man Lakers has its strength again. Before it was kobe and shaq. Now its odom/boozer and kobe.

Theres hope for Lakers yet if they can get things together. Divac though, so much talk when he went to Lakers to finish his career at LA, and now still being traded away.

My friend in Cali is letting me hear it on the phone right now. They're also talking about they might add Sasha Vujacic and Raja Bell to the deal before approval, which would be a great pick-up for us giving us a solid defensive player. They also think the Lamar Odom for Peja and Bobby Jackson would be an awful trade for us.

Wow the lakers are getting a mid-season shake up if both deals go through. I don't think that would be good since they might struggle for a couple weeks, and struggling for a couple weeks is bad right now when you have some hungry wolves coming for you.

Well the Jazz are denying their actively shopping Boozer......so I have a feeling it might not happen......

http://www.deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,12 ... 60,00.html

"Absolutely ludicrous," said Jazz basketball operations senior vice president Kevin O'Connor, who was in Denver for Sunday night's NBA All-Star Game.
The Jazz do not deny that they'd listen to overtures regarding anyone on their roster, but O'Connor said he has not spoken to the Lakers regarding Boozer.
"We haven't been shopping Carlos around at all," Jazz owner Larry H. Miller told KSL-TV, Ch. 5's Rod Zundel. "In fact, I have to tell you right now, as honestly as I can, that I have a hard time imagining circumstances that would have us trading Carlos."
