Got Milk Rookie Game 2005 (Sophomores 133 - Rookies 106)

Postby 8-Hype on Sat Feb 19, 2005 2:06 pm

It just ended, first it looked like the Rookies are going to win. Josh Smith failed two alley-oop atempts, but they were just sick. If he just had made them... the leading dunkers were Tony Allen (6) and Chris Bosh (6), followed by Melo (5). In total there were, if I counted right, 40 dunks. Not too much action, but the game was alright. Kyle Korver was 7/9 from beyond the ark.

The game was sick.... could have been better (compared to last year) but it still was a good game. I wish Bosh won the MVP, he was second in points and first in rebounds (ithink)..

I was hoping to watch it, but ESPN Pacific Rim decided to show various fishing shows instead. I knew I pre-ordered the Weekend from PonTel for a reason.

Yep, that's right. First I thought he would become MVP, but y'all know what Melo's hometown is... I was going to watch the Celebrity game, but my ESPN showed Golf instead.

I noticed NBA.com has some particular error with Jefferson's scores.

Same here 'Drew... just got fishing shows.... it just occurred to me that today was Rookie vs Sophmore game... and they didn't show it on ESPN like last year....
ESPN NBA has been crap this season... last year always showed games on thursday and saturdays... this season, they've been only showing games on either thursday or saturday... and some weeks even neither. I hope they show the dunk contest!

They haven't been too bad the last couple of months. We've had a few weeks with two games, usually always a Saturday game. No All-Star coverage is scheduled this year though, I'm hoping they'll show the game at least. A couple of times this year they've listed other things in the NBA slot (Streetball and Copa Del Ray for example) but have shown the NBA game instead.

The Rookie Vs. Sophomore game was on TNT. :|

The Celebrity Game was on ESPN though. In which Greg Anthony traded 3 Future First Rounders to Stephen A. Smith for Kevin Frazier.

Yes, I know. However, ESPN International (or at least, ESPN Pacific Rim) generally shows the All-Star Weekend (albeit with their own commentary).

The Celtics rookies did really well, I thought. Tony Allen gave a lot of nice highlights, particularly the windmill breakaway and the slam in on the miss -- which actually happen real often during regular games. I wish he were in the Dunk Contest instead of either of the PFs.

Jefferson played really well I thought -- considering he was just taken off the Celts' IL. In his first year, I'm going to call his post game top ten in the league. The footwork there is McHale-like.

Yeah, I thought the same... I first didn't know he can put it down even with a windmil. He's just nasty...
