Kidd wants out... again...

According to multiple sources, Kidd has let management know that he wants to team up with Minnesota forward Kevin Garnett, the reigning MVP. Kidd believes that lethal combination would give him a good chance to win the championship ring that has eluded him in his 11-year NBA career.

"He has made it clear within the organization that he would like to play with Kevin Garnett," a league source said. "He told management he wanted to play with Garnett over the summer and he hasn't wavered on that."

The Timberwolves, a Western Conference finalist last year, began the day in ninth place in the West. They fired coach Flip Saunders on Saturday and are trying to move disgruntled veterans Latrell Sprewell and Sam Cassell.

Any thoughts on this? Good/bad for either of the teams (and their players)?

Minnesota can offer several players:

Troy Hudson
Sam Cassell
Latrell Sprewell
Wally Scszcerbiak

A couple of draft picks would be good as well..

the twolves should not offer anyone who could help them win right away. with kid they could still easily make the playoffs and even land a respectable spot considering thier start. doubt the nets would bite if the wolves offered cassell and spree for kidd(plus filler on either side) but if they did do it the wolves are instant contenders again in my book and the nets enter next year with tons of free agent cash.

I don't trust those "close to the player" and "multiple sources" news anymore. When Kidd himself tells he wants out, then I'll believe.

Kidd has not been as good as he used to be. So i think his value has decreased.

i think his age and contract is the biggest part of his lessened value, not his game play. he is still one of if not the best PG in the league its just that he could go down with a career injury at any time and he is still owed a fortune.

Kidd and KG would be alright... Starbury and KG even better! (Y)

If Kidd does move to minny, Spree and Cassell would be able to move right?

marbury and kg would suck, what are you talking about. didnt they try this once and marbury could not seem to give up the damn ball to kg. something about how he thought he was the teams best player? screw marbury he is a proven loser in the nba no matter what his stats say.

I agree. Marbury had shown throughout his career that he's not the kind of guy that would make his teammates better. Jason Kidd has proved that, and Kidd would be much more valuable over Marbury if one of them had to team up with KG.

wtf? stupid kidd. just have some patience you asshole. you got the most lethal backcourt in the league, especially when you get back RJ.

if kidd goes, you know minny will be better. they should trade latrell and ndudi ebi and/or eddie griffen for kidd and cash

Honestly, I think it would be Sprewell and Cassell for Kidd and filler.

But nothing will happen.

no it doesn't... just cuz one guy on nba.com says "its just news" doesn't mean it's 100% legit..

and besides, i meant IF KIDD SAID THAT.

Kidd has not been as good as he used to be. So i think his value has decreased.

I don't know about that, he's first in the league in triple doubles with 5 [he got on today], he's basically averaging 1 triple double every 7 games. He's averaging 14 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists on a team with 1 scoring option [2 no with Mercer] outside of him, and his scoring efficiency has been good because he's shot 40.5% from 3PT range.

If you exclude the first 12 games or so of his season when he was still moving slow, getting back in game shape and only playing 28 MPG, he's averaging:

16.8 points | 7.5 rebounds | 8.9 assists | 1.8 steals | 41.4% FG | 41.8% 3PT | and 79.7% FT, and add in his very good defense.

This month he's averaging 18.5 points | 7.4 rebounds | 10.5 assists and 49.1% 3PT shooting.

The contract is a problem for upcoming years, but for this year, I'd definately take that.

it's one of the moves that you make to get a ring NOW rather than wait till later when the LeBron or maybe Yao Dyansty might start happening.

A proven loser? Then so is Tmac. KG and Marbury were young and dumb back then, now you see the maturity of both players, and I'd love to see them reunited again.

Considering that Francis, Iverson and C Webb arent whiners, thats not that big of an insult . I cant see how he is a bigger "whiner" than Tmac though..
