No problem The introduction is a little tough to get through, but after that, it's interesting stuff as the author questions so many little things that we would overlook. If you're interested in some more, check out: "Reading the Bible Again for the First Time: Taking the Bible Seriously But Not Literally" by Marcus Borg. It's a long title, but it's a great read, imo.

I believe God is perfect and there is nothing for Him to change. He has the right to take away what He wants because He is the one who made them. for example you bake cokies, some cookies were good others aint, but he gave a chance and add some more flavoring on the bad ones. in the end the bad ones continue to rot. will you have no right to throw away the cookie that are bad? your the one who made them anyway.

Yeah, that 930 years old thing is typical of the Bible. Of course an educated person cannot take that LITERALLY, cause if you take the Bible literally, you would be reading it in a wrong manner.

Anyways, that's what bothers me about the Bible. Why does it have to be all metaphors and insinuation??? I don't get it....

Can you imagine how many people actually took part in writing the Bible??? Its "construction" passed by countless hands, and we can't be sure if the people who wrote it didn't have bad intentions.
Just like some respected and venerated priest may have written his beliefs and views of the world, a psychopathic thief may have scribbled nonsense, and a naive farmer may have interpreted that nonsense.

I myself cannot grasp the idea of basing one's entire faith to a book you don't even know who wrote it...

Here's a fun fact about Adam and Eve.

Now, God made Adam, then Eve was created from Adam's rib. All was good. Everything was perfect. One day, one of God's creations, a snake, told Adam and Eve a truth: "eat this apple, and you will gain knowledge." Oh really? Sweet ass, but big daddy God said not to eat it. Now, if God was all knowing and all powerful, why the heck did he make a tree of wisdom and for what purpose? To tempt Adam and Eve? Sure, why not?! And so Adam and Eve ate the apple, and they realize they're naked and get embarassed. And for some reason, God is asking, "Adam, yoo hoo, where are you?" And if God is all knowing and all powerful, how come God had trouble looking for Adam, and he had no clue that Adam ate the apple till he told God. So, they get into shit for disobeying big daddy. So much for love and forgiveness, and because of that, the rest of mankind are screwed because of one mistake that God created. So, eventually came the flood because God was angry, vengeful, and most importantly, regretful. He regret making mankind, and it says right there in the Bible. This shows how human God was, how not all-knowing, all-righteous as God is portrayed. And as Mad_Handle wrote:

Yes, the Bible is a man-made product. And I bet you anything that God didn't write this through human beings, because the Bible are full of contradictions and problems, so it's not perfect. And if God was perfect, he'd make the Bible perfect.

first of all God did not put the trees there to tempt eve. that was a stupid concept played in naive peoples mind. we have trees all over the world posionuos to man but has other purpose like shelter for animals. the only reason God put it in there was it was suppose to be there other than to be eaten. Satan came and influence EVE to give it to adam. Adam knows that God told them not to but he loves his wife and followed her. the wife when confronted by God said that the snake decieve her. (because God did not directly said to eve not to eat from the tree, adam just relay to her) so the first sin was not by eating the fruit. not by being tempted(even Jesus was tempted) not by following the wife and trusting her more than God but BY BEING DISOBEDIENT to someone who knows all. God is all knowing and HE can see everythig to where it will be heading. SINCE HE is a GOD of righteeousness all He expects form us is we do good. He doesnt give a crap about you doing evil. if you ever do evil and be sorry for it He might be ok. but to some extent. you cant be like oops i did something wrong sorry. ooops i did it again sorry. God I'm back doing it sorry. GOD is not a fool you know. if you are habitual in this bad things you will rot in hell for sure.

A lot. if its consistent to what was written before Him even if he hasn't read the damn or even heard of the guy who wrote the things written before him. THEN I BELEIVE GOD WAS THERE and the writer surely was told to do so.

i remember someone use to say that God is no pervert and HE doesn't scope on people lives.

actually I personally believe God really wants to hear straight from us what we have to say. just like when mommy caught your hands in the cookie jar. our parents always wants to hear our side before passing on judgement to us if we did something wrong. thats what happen to adam. when GOD said where he is because God knows he is hiding. (actually you dont have to take it literally because the bible explains itself through the entire book) which means your question here will be answer from other guys and other truths found in other books) beware because the bible also contain lies. the words of the devil qouted there and other dumb kings and pagan believs are lies which you must know in order to know the real truth. THE BIBLE IS LIKE A GIANT JIGSAW PUZZLE. man cannot accpet it because the real spiritual meaning cannot be comprehend by someone who wont open his heart and soul to it. but time will come for everyone if he hears the right calling and the right need.i just hope those time would not ran out.

Why did God put the tree there in the first place? To test them? What was the point of testing them, if God wanted them created in His image? If God is all knowing, he would know in advance that Adam and Eve will eat the apple. Why did God create Satan? So God can get Satan to tempt Adam and Eve?

I don't take this story literally, but metaphorically. There's a moral here, and an allegory that I can sum it up like this: Children, obey your parents when they tell you not to touch the rifle. And if somebody tempts you to touch the rifle, you're going to be sorry!

God didnt create satan to be that way at first satan was the so called angel of light the bearer of the common good in the heavens then he became self centered and just thought that he can beat God because for Him God has flaws. but God didnt just kill Him. God is merciful and he let the devil do things His own way. but satan did more bad things and he will be judge in the end just like to all people who really knows deep in their hearts that there is a God but stubbornly inflict to their so called mind that GOD has flaw. but to those who are not yet cleared and have doubts God is patient for them. and so must they must be patient too.

God is a GOD of good. all he expects is the good side of our judgement. what happen is adam and eve made the wrong side of their judgement so God was frustrated by that. SATAN wasnt put there in the first place. you cant read that anywhere. just so happen the king of lies just like to mess up with what God created and all.

Yeah, God is often testing people. Like with Job- for some reason God put Job through the wringer, did everything to 'em. Family killed, got diseases, lost all his herds and wealth, everything but his life. Just to prove to the devil that Job wouldn't ever curse God.

Job said, "The Lord gave, and now the Lord takes away. Let his name be praised."
and, "Am I to recieve good things, but not bad?" - something like that.

Job was tough. I don't know if I could do that.
