Dan Dickau Playing Well.

Sat Jan 29, 2005 4:18 pm

Dan Dickau in my opinion has benefited from the New Orleans Trade extremely well. in his last two games he has a double double and is playing great.

anyone agree?

Well their's a lot that still suck even though they don't get to play, normally the guys that can perform you see flashes of what they can do when they get their limited minutes. Dickau is doing real good though.

he always looked like a solid pick when Atlanta chose him IMO but he played behind Terry which can't be beneficial

Yeah he is playing great, I thought Nachbar would do the same thing however he's playing shocking. And Jacobsen will probably get the nod ahead for minutes over Nachbar now.

He's making a case for becoming an MIP candidate.

His numbers per 40 minutes over the years from RealGM:

Dickau ' PTS ''''' RB ''''' AS ''''' ST '''' BK ''''' TO ''' PF ''' TS% '''' PPA
2004 '''' 18.2 ''' 4.1 ''' 5.2 ''' 1.2 ''' 0.1 ''' 3.0 ''' 4.0 ''' .538 ''' 12.7
2003 '''' 12.9 ''' 3.5 ''' 5.2 ''' 2.3 ''' 0.0 ''' 3.5 ''' 6.0 ''' .456 '''''' 5.9
2002 '''' 14.2 ''' 3.3 ''' 6.6 ''' 1.1 ''' 0.2 ''' 4.1 ''' 5.1 ''' .504 '''''' 8.2

Last 9 games: 18.4 PPG, 45.6% FG%, 34.6 3PT%, 6.1 APG, 3.9 RPG, 1.2 SPG, 2.7 turnovers, 36.9 mins

Very noticable improvements are that his TS% is up and his foul rate is down. If he continue this, he could be right up there with Bobby Simmons as players who improved more than just their minutes. Joel Przybilla has also been doing pretty good as a starter.

so whats Shaq gonna call him.....Dazzling Dan or Dan Dick :?:

Wed Feb 02, 2005 1:21 am

i know ive have picked him up on my fantasy teams. hes awesome now. keep getting hurt baron davis so dickau gets his minutes. 8-)

Wed Feb 02, 2005 10:24 am

dickau has been an enourmous surprise, along with Lee Nailon, they have began to rejuvanize the team.

Wed Feb 02, 2005 11:39 am

its good to see players that give it all even if they have been forgotten by fans. and when 1 cry baby superstar goes down(baron davis) players like nailon and dickau step up. 8-) PJ brown is also doing his part to help the team. (Y)

Crybaby?? :?

Wed Feb 02, 2005 1:18 pm

I'm guessing because he asked for a trade, Baron is a frustrating guy, too many three's, and too many injuries, he could be one mad PG in this league if he got himself together on and off the court [conditioning wise]. He's one of those players that can carry a team alone, but he goes down way too much.

Wed Feb 02, 2005 1:56 pm

ive always been a fan of baron davis.

if i was a player with his skills in a team like new orleans, id be frustrated too.

Wed Feb 02, 2005 2:25 pm

I agree a little, one of the reasons he was angry was also because he signed in Charlotte, and then they moved to New Orleans, I guess he isn't too fond of New Orleans, even though it doesn't seem like he minds it at all.

Wed Feb 02, 2005 8:30 pm

My bad, I really though that guy was a bad player who would be in the league for 3 years, the length of his contract. He got my vote for the MIP award. (Y)

Wed Feb 02, 2005 8:34 pm

His numbers as a starter in New Orleans are quite nice: 16.3 ppg, 7 apg and 3.6 rpg in just under 38 mpg. I'd be more inclined to pick Bobby Simmons as MIP but Dickau seems to be proving he's not quite ready to accept "gone and forgotten" status.

Thu Feb 03, 2005 1:49 am

But if he keeps those number he's a serious candidate

Thu Feb 03, 2005 2:37 am

Im loving the little cabbage heads play of late (seriously have you noticed how big his head is in NBA Live 2005?!), he has been one of my fav fastbreak picks this season.

Thu Feb 03, 2005 11:15 pm

dan dickau is a poster boy for good players that just need a break... i always believe that many benchwarmers, when given the minutes and the confidence by coaches, can produce all-star numbers (i use the term all-star loosely, remember, magloire was an allstar last year)...

not necessarily. i wouldn't say he's a good player. he's just the best out of the mediocre bunch that's at new orleans. who else can create scoring opportunities for themselves on that team other then dickau and nailon? almost similar to primoz brezec. he's putting up some ok numbers but i wouldn't say he's a good player

al harrington when he was on the pacers was a good example of a player that needed more PT to bust out. the talent was there but he would always be a backup as long as JO & artest were there. randolph also comes to mind

or someone now like chris bosh who is doing pretty damn well now that he's the man in TO.

Fri Feb 04, 2005 7:27 am

dickau was a stud in college... he was the best college player in the nation. its fair to at least giv him the title of a good player

Fri Feb 04, 2005 10:11 am

he was the best college player in the nation.

:shake:
he didn't even win the Wooden award, normally given to the nation's best college player

are you his agent?
:x

Fri Feb 04, 2005 10:20 am

well, i remember he was "too small for the NBA" with his skills.

i use to hate this guy, but he's making me look stupid.. same with bobby simmons
