Emanuel Ginobili-All Star?...

Postby baller status on Wed Feb 02, 2005 8:38 am

Should Manu get to go to Denver this year for the All Star game? Hes put up some pretty good numbers... and hes such a flashy player. Charles Barkley even said that if Ginobili isnt picked for the All Star games... he will not go to Denver.

Too many good players on the Western Conference. Maybe he can be a reserve if Kobe can't play in the game.

I think he has a great chance of making it he's an awesome player all this hype about carlos arroyo doing good in the olympics(which he really sucks I've met him personally and he really sucks as a player) what about manu? he beat the U.S. too. shouldn't he get credit i think manu deserves to be an all-star he's the best intenational all-star i have him up there with nowitzki and peja. I htink he's an underated player and maybe it's good for him so he can prove everyone wrong. And i know the man that trained ginobili in high school there is no better coach than that man it wasn't popavich that flurished him it was andres piriocci his first coach i lived in argentina and i trained at that high school

Hey yomoby, no need to bash on Arroyo. These All-Star selections are based on the season stats and popularity, not because "they" beat the U.S. in the Olympics.
I don't think he's popular enough or has the stats to be at G for the West, this year. But I think he has a high chance of making the team the next season. He's always making flashy things.

as much as he deserves it won't happen.
tmac/kobe r starters (pooularity)
then you got guards like nash, ray allen, who probably deserve it more but will probably end up as reserves.
then you got the thinkers out there who think of "oh he has tim duncan bla blah blah.."

he deserves it.. he reminds me of steve nash sort of; only more of a slasher and a better defender.. erratic but fun to watch nonetheless :)

I think this might be a "wait your turn" year for Ginobili as far as All-Star selections are concerned, but if they're looking for injury replacements I think he has to be one of the names at the top of the list.

he'll miss it by 3 coats of varnish.........theirs simply too many good guards in the West.....Kobe, Ray, T-Mac, Nash, B-Diddy to name a few.

The only way he'll get in though is by getting the coaches approval....which isnt an easy thing to get.

on .org I wrote:i can't really say if he really deserves it since i haven't seen a lot of games this seaon (no tv in my dorm, well there is one but that's a different story).

i'd love to see him as an all-star though...TP too

I think he should make it.

Kobe's injured and BDiddys been injured. Baron Davis won't be voted in, so there's no way the coaches can vote him in. Since he hasn't played.

So T-Mac and Nash will start as guards (Nash deserves to start anyway and he actually has the third mostvotes as guard).

Then Ray Allen and Emanuel Ginobili should come off the bench.

I think Kobe will make the game, which will make the reserves Ray Allen and Nash, and with the amount of good forwards in the West, those wildcard spots have to go to 2 forwards.

WTF Argentina's economy problems have to do with Ginobili being picked for the All-Star game? And WTF is the "~~~" thing you post?

Ginobili will never be an All-Star!

Do you see the future?

Im sorry, but Manu is not up to allstar quality yet...he had some good games but mostly he is too inconsistent.
he is a very interesting player though and he should be challenging for selection in the next few years.

Actually I think he's All-Star quality, one problem is that he doesn't get many minutes, because the Spurs are always blowing people out, so even Duncan's minutes are down. They win by an average of 11 points a game or so.

You have to think of the fact that he's playing less minutes than 6th men like Stackhouse and Radmonovic, he plays 29.6 minutes a game.

Per 40 minutes he's averaging: 21.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 2.36 steals and 3.1 turnovers. Watching him play, you know he has the star qualities, in a faster paced team where he get's more minutes, example Washington, he'd put up Larry Hughes type numbers. 20-6-5, 2+ steals, but more turnovers than Hughes.

i agree it would be good to see him play more minutes...i also think that he has to be more aggressive on offense..yes i have seen him dunk on peoples heads, but i think he needs to shoot more than parker..too many times i've seen parker have more shots than both TD and Manu.
that would help his allstar stock IMO

Baron Davis wont make this year's allstar team. Manu has an outside shot at making it in. right now hes probably the 4th or 5th best gaurd in the west. Tmac,Nash,Allen, Kobe or Manu i just put kobe at 4th cause hes injured but he might start. 8-). and i dont like the spurs but i do give credit were credit is due and manu deserves credit for his performance so far this season.
