Well 3 potentially star class swingman outta HS got drafted one after the other this year and another 3 College Ballers went a bit before them....but whose gonna be the best in the long run?

He definetely has a huge future though.

JR Smith, not only he can dunk, he has range too and he is probably the most athletic too. Luol Deng is 2nd for me, he quite an all-round player too.

I like Josh Smith's dunks though, let's hope he'll compete in the dunk contest. Too bad he can't shoot at all.

I think the best future's will go to Andre Iguodala, Luol Deng, and Josh Smith.

My Predictions

Iguodala - He'll average in the range of 18-20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals when he develops, and also be a player who plays very good defense.

Luol Deng - He'll average 18-20 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists when he develops, and his length allows him to be pretty good defensively, but he doesn't have the athleticism to become a shut down player. He'll be like a mini-version of Grant Hill.

Josh Smith - He'll average 16 points, 9-10 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2 blocks, he'll go into the mold of being like Shawn Marion.

Dorell Wright - He'll average 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, as him and Wade dominate the scene as a crazy 1-2 punch at SG and SF. As he get's better they could form a combo that both average 20 PPG.

JR Smith - He'll average 17-20 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, I don't see him becoming that versatile a player, but he'll be a good scorer. He'll be like a younger Vince, but not as good in terms of all-round game. I don't see him becoming a franchise type player, just a scorer/dunker.

Kirk Snyder - He'll average 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and will be a defensive guy, or a 6th man type player.

at this point, i can only see josh smith having the best opportunity to become a star. only he and harrington seem to be the keepers on that atl team. he should get plenty of minutes and shots to develop his game.

deng and iggy could end up as great role players as long as they stay on their current teams. i can't remember any teammate of iverson making the all start team. maybe iggy can do it once his outside shot gets going. deng probably won't get monster numbers as long as curry, gordon, and hinrich are in chicago.

i've heard some nice things about that wright guy but i haven't seen this guy play yet.

I see Igoudala being a nice all-around player. Rebounds, points, defense, etc.
Josh being a great defensive player, with highlight dunks and stuff like that.
And Deng being a good offensive player, with some defense, but not too much. IMO, Gordon has more future.

well he hasn't played at all i think. check his nba.com profile. no data or something. he's got all these t-mac comparisons everywhere (well actually i've only read one on slam, but the top posts says it too )

Saw him in Summer League, the thing that seperates him from other high school rookies is that in addition to his athleticism, he has pretty good handles, can create his own shot, and he can also shoot from mid-range well.

He has a good future if he continues to develop.

Dorrell Wright is like 6"6-6"7, which makes him more of a SF/PF.

but that's summer league. qyntel woods, khalid el amin, casey jacobsen are all stars there but chumps in the nba. ah well, at least it's something

Wright and Smith havents showed me much to make them the next Tmac or Jamison. before i read the 1st post i was already thinking Andre Iguodala
could be to iverson what pippen was the Jordan. i like phillies future but it might have come a little to late iverson is getting to the point were he needs help if he wants to stay healthy and have a good career past 30

I'm liking J.R. Smith, he is an exciting player to watch, but I have to go with Andre Iguodala. Even though I havn't really seen any of these rookies play to much, what I've seen with Iguodala has impressed me.

But in all honesty, not too many of these player have really done anything special for their teams. But I think a lot of them will in the future.

Allen isn't a swingman, he's a SG, swingmen are SG/SF's. Allen reminds me of a 6th man type guy, defensive guy who comes in and sparks the team, scores some baskets, harreses the other team on defense, hit's some shots, get's some dunks, then goes back to chill...

And what is the difference? If you're saying SF as a secondary position, is JR Smith really a swingman then? I'm sure Allen could play SF too. SG and SF in essence are pretty much the same.
