When is Karl Malone returning?

I always wanted him to break the scoring record. Does anyone know if he's planning to go to the Heat?

at this point i don't think he is coming back. He has been waiting wayyyyy too long, so i think he is going to keep that cowboy hat on and move on with life.

The problem with coming into the league so late is he will be rusty and need to get into shape and right now isn't the time to try get in shape because teams are racing for the playoffs now.

I think before the season started he would've had to play 82 games and average like 16ppg to break the scoring record. So basically if he came back now he'd need to average like 30ppg, which isn't going to happen.

Malone said he wanted to wait the first half of the season and sign with a team in the second. So, NBA insiders, please tell me what's going to happen.

He already told the Lakers and the Spurs no, so my guess would be the Miami Heat or retirement.

He's probably more interested in the ring than he is with the scoring title, I think he's just waiting to see where Miami lands up, how they land up and against who they land up.

I think in due time, if everything goes according to how he would want Miami to go (good spot in the Playoffs, healthy Shaq), he'll suit up for them.

He's still having his doubts about retirement.

As a 42 year old... getting past 1400 points... For an entire season that would mean 17 points per game, which is highly unlikely since his last season was on 13 points.

But hey, Michael posted many past 40 points game, even a 51 point one, being 39/40 coming out of second retirement, so for a skilled guy like Karl everything is possible.

But I think that he needs at least two full seasons to get the all time scoring in points.

But as a title, well, he definetly deserves it. But I doubt he will return.

Interestingly Karl and Michael have both been rumoured to return in Miami uniform this season, a hot team this Miami :)

I don't think Mike will be returning to Miami, highly unlikely since in some interview he said he's fine doing whatever it is he's doing at the moment.

Malone however isn't totally out of the picture, he wants a ring + him & O'Neal get along. That I still think is possible.

Why wouldn't Miami be a hot spot to suit up for? They've got the best Center in the league and one of the most dynamic up and coming young players of today.

I know Mike wont be returning to Miami. But there were rumours about that during september, but it was all about just some friendly pickup games and nothing more, that media boosted into larger than life rumour.
