I just heard on TNT Lenny Wilkins is expected to resign later this morning.

what?
For what reason would he resign? Not Lenny
Sat Jan 22, 2005 4:22 pm
because he doesnt want to get FIRED and look like he ended his coaching career being fired.....Isiah is always ready to fire him....so smart choice from Lenny, I dont think any Coach would wanna take up the Knicks with Isiah around.....hes a insensitive nutball.

knicks really needed a win and a lose at the buzzer kinda just makes oyu feel you can't win anymore...so much pressure being in NY

Well NYK has also lost 5 straight and 8 out of the last 9. I hope Isaiah pulls the trigger on that deal with Toronto.

New coach anyone?? I believe Isiah will take over for a while or maybe permanently ,but i always have hope that we could get the Zen Master in NY

Jackson would be crazy to come here. This team is a mess, on and off the court. No defense, no size, no real superstars. Plus Knicks are in salary-cap hell, are loaded with bad contracts and have lousy ownership - among the worst in the league(Dolan & Cablevision). Do you think Isiah will let Big Chief Triangle have a say on personnel moves?

whats happend to the Knickerbockers, Isiah did get Starbury but hes such a cuthroat and ruthless person.....

well considering wilkens age and being the first time in his 30+ year coaching career he resigns, is this the end of the line for him? His old school style of play just doesn't seem to fit these young fellows these days.

If Hubie Brown is anything to go by, I don't think Wilkens is done though he has garnered a bad rap in his recent coaching stints. Perhaps more significantly, if the personal/family problems that have been alluded to are serious, I would suggest he'd opt for retirement even if a couple of teams had interest in his services.

at least Herb has a perfect coaching record,

so he'll probably bring us to the finals. oh yeah!
