Fri Jan 21, 2005 11:10 am
I say the West wins but Shaq is crowned MVP.
Fri Jan 21, 2005 11:11 am
West will win once again.
I have the feeling Tracy McGrady will get the MVP with 25+ something points.
Fri Jan 21, 2005 12:21 pm
East will win???? Yea right, the day grant hill or vince can stop KG & Duncan will be the day those 2 need to retire.
Fri Jan 21, 2005 12:21 pm
MVP Grant hill 25pts, 7 rebounds, 10 assists.
East wins,
Kobe and Tmac combine to jack up 90 shots.
Yao ming gets fouled out in the first 5minutes of the game.
I don't see the east having that many guards on the bench, even though its a guard heavy conference. Ben wallace will at least make the bench. Heck even jamison has a chance in making the team.
This is the year chris webber doesn't make the all star team imo

Either that or Stojakovic takes his place.

an aging michael jordan along with carter, mcgrady almost pulled off a victory two years ago. they might lack size but the east can sure as hell run

these are my votes based on deserving players and have nothing to do with votes....basically i'd like to see these players
C Shaq
F Jamison
F G Hill
G L James
G AI
Bench: Ben Wallace, Dwyane Wade, Larry Hughes, Gilbert Arenas, Richard Hamilton, JO, Paul Pierce
West
C Stoudemire
F Duncan
F Garnett
G Kobe
G Nash
Bench: Webber, Marion, T-Mac, Nowitzki, Ray Allen, R Lewis, Gasol
Fri Jan 21, 2005 11:54 pm
obviously starters are pretty much set, so here's who I think will make All-Star teams.....
EAST
Starters:
C- Shaq
F- Grant Hill
F- Vin-Sanity
G- LBJ
G- The Answer
Bench:
C- Ben Wallace
F- Meka Okafor
F- Tawn Jamison
G- Flash Wade
G- Stevie Franchise
Last 2 are tough but I'd have to go with 2 of the following 3:
C- Zydrunas Ilgauskas
G- Michael Redd
G- The Truth
Snubbees:
J. O'Neal misses out due to missed games due to suspension
Larry Hughes would have been there but misses out due to injury
Same reason for Richard Jefferson and Jason Kidd (injuries)
Toine is on a losing team
Marbury is forgotten
WEST
Starters:
C - Yao
F - Duncan
F - Garnett
G - T-Mac
G - Kobe
Bench:
F- Amare Stoudamire
F- Dirk Nowitzki
F- Shawn Marion
G- Ray Allen
G- Steve Nash
C- Brad Miller (league will want an actual C selected on bench)
F- Peja Stojakovic
G- Mike Bibby (due to lack of PG in starting lineup)
Snubbees:
AK47 due to games missed due to injury which is a real shame as he was playing superb prior to injury
Clippers Corey Maggette and Elton Brand due to depth of West
Pau Gasol is the odd man out, West is just too deep....if Memphis had won a few more games I'd have him in there
San Antonio's Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili deserve a mention but Duncan gets most of the credit for Spurs
Seattle's Rashard Lewis, although too many forwards in front of him in the West
Denver's Melo's been average when healthy on an average Nuggets team....same thing with K-Mart
hopefully I didn't forget anyone but I probably have....
East will win the game behind the Superman-Flash combo with Flash winning All-Star MVP honours....

I'd be pissed if neither Jamison, Hughes, or Arenas makes it. Hughes is going to be back in 4-6 weeks, meaning he might return before the All-Star game. To be precise, he could be back as early as mid-February.

bah, i forgot about Emeka Okafor...he should be All-Star

Hughes isn't going to get it because he isn't popular, and he also got injured, yes it would be coaches vote, but they won't put Hughes over guys like Iverson, Marbury etc..
Jamison will likely make it thinking of the circumstances, he was 6th man last year, came to a Washington team that did bad, and now they're good, even though he's not even the main reason, looking outside in, that's how people will see it.
Eastern All-Stars
G - Lebron James
G - Allen Iverson
F - Grant Hill
F - Vince Carter
C - Shaquille O'neal
G - Steve Francis
G - Dwyane Wade
F - Jermaine O'neal
F - Antawn Jamison
C - Ben Wallace
G - Stephon Marbury [Jason Kidd | Hughes | Arenas | Pierce | Redd]
F/C - Zydrunas Ilguaska [Chris Bosh | Emeka | Rasheed]
Western All-Stars
G - Tracy McGrady
G - Kobe Bryant
F - Tim Duncan
F - Kevin garnett
C - Yao Ming
G - Ray Allen
G - Steve Nash
F - Dirk Nowitzki
F - Shawn Marion
C -Amare Stoudemire
F - Chris Webber
F/C - Elton Brand [Brad Miller | Zach Randolph | Rashard | Carmelo]
East - 124
West - 120
MVP - Dwyane Wade or Lebron James

I think Hill will get mvp. Everyone will get so nostalgic about seeing him be an all star again, and they will want him to score and be mvp.
Sat Jan 22, 2005 4:33 pm
MVP will be Vinsanity....for some weird reason I think he'll go haywire and amaze us for that game....
East will win it in a nail bitter.....
Sat Jan 22, 2005 5:33 pm
I think T-mac will be MVP
in the past few years, he had been really good (thats just my opinion) in the ASG but east lost so he didn't get it. if it wasn't for KG in 2003, i think tmac would probably end up being the MVP of that game.

Well if he actually plays then maybe...last year when he actually deserved it he didn't get minutes so this year when his overall numbers don't [well they're the same as Grant Hill's], but his New Jersey numbers are pretty good, who knows if he'll get much PT.

i think people put to much stock on the size factor of the all star game. it helps, no doubt about that, but i dont think it helps no way near as much as people think it does. the all star game is a run and gun game. even though you see the big guys get thier shots down low its not something you are gonna see all game long. the big advantage could come with altered shot(wont happen much in first half) and rebounds. so even though its true that the east really has no one to stop duncan or garnett they will still be able to score with them. big guys wont matter much if the guards dont give them the ball.

jamal tinsley had better be in this game.
17.2 points and 6.7 assists are all star numbers.
Wed Jan 26, 2005 1:51 am
he' won't.......theres too many players infront of him

Yeh, he can't be there. He's not that popular, either.

Tinsley over Iverson, LeBron, Pierce, Arenas, Hughes, Kidd, Carter, Davis, Marbury, Francis, Billups, Hamilton, Redd, Mason and Wade?

yes over kidd, yes over carter, yes over davis, yes over billups, yes over hamilton, yes over mason.
Who's Davis? Carter is listed as a forward.
The starters are Lebron and Iverson. Wade and Francis or Arenas will be the backups, and then their'll be at most one more spot for a guard, so Francis or Arenas, Marbury, Redd, Pierce, Hughes, Hinrich, Tinsley and Kidd.
Tinsley has a 0% chance of making the All-Star team to tell the truth. I like him a lot, and he's a very good PG, but let's keep the homerism at realistic levels.

Davis is in the west now, Im assuming we are talking about Baron Davis and not Ricky Davis.
