Too Much Heat for the Nets on VC debut

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (Ticker)The Shaq vs. Vince debut matchup matched the expectations, a sell out crowd were as load as it hasn't been in NJ in the last three years. The Miami Heat took control of the game early in the first quarter taking a 10 point lead but the New Jersey Nets never gave up. Jason Kidd's alley oop to Vince Carter tied the game at the 2:15 mark in the second quarter. In the third the Heat took control once again putting the game away by 12. Moiso hit three consecutive field goalds over Shaq to put the game only by 6 after three quaters. With 5:00 left in the 4th the Heat managed to create a 12-0 run to take a 14 point lead, it seemed over but the big three once again tried to put the game on their shoulders and they did so, Kidd's steal with 35.2 seconds left and a three pointer from Richard Jefferson put the Nets only down by 6 but the Heat hit all the free throws down the stretch to seal the win for the Heat 116-112. Sophmore sensaction Wade lead the Heat with 32 points and 7 assists, Shaq followed him with 20 points and 20 rebounds.


"I think this was a heck of a game, the Nets are going to be a dangerous team in this conference Jason Kidd seemed to never get tired he was pushing the ball and making us run rebound after rebound" Said Shaquille O'Neal. "A great game we got a little scared at the end when they pulled it off and tried to come back" said Wade.


Jerome Moiso was the surprise of the day in New Jersey leading the Nets with 22 points and 13 rebounds. "He just did not put up big numbers but he matched up Shaq beautifully" said Nets captain Jason Kidd. Vince Carter followed Moiso's perfomance with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. " It was fun, I love the enviroment in here these fans are amazing they were really into it and playing with Kidd and RJ its amazing how easy you can get shots off" said Vince Carter. Another good peromance for the Nets Jason Kidd with 18 points and 9 assists and Richard Jefferson with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. The Nets now will now travel to Chicago to face the Bulls Friday at 8:30 PM.

A new era in New Jersey, a healthy Jason Kidd, the Vinsanity is in town, and many free agents were signed during this off-season all of this happened after Vince15 arrived and took charge as the Nets GM, Today we bring a complete interview with Vince15 on our weekly Nets update.

Q. Vince15 how do you see the team roster, are there any changes to be made?

A. Well, I think we got a pretty nice and young squad, we got one if not the best trio in the NBA its going to be fun to watch and those players will make many other players better, I think we got a decent squad right now.


Q. Vince Carter in town now, what motivated you guys to make this move having RJ in the team too?

A. Vince Carter and RJ are pretty similar players its something close to the case of Allan Houston and Sprewell but this two players will be very different in our team, they will no t have to be fighting over double team night in and night out now they got three players to double team.

Q. Jelani McCoy, Coleman, Stephania and Drew brought to NJ why?

A. We are undersized at the moment we needed some free agents and I think we got the perfect one’s, Stephania is 7’1, Coleman 6’10 and McCoy 6’11 I think they will help us a lot in rebounding. Drew it’s a great point guard they guy can explode and drop 20 any night given and we needed a backup point guard so why not try him.

Q. Lawrence Frank is he the coach this team needs?

A. I love this guy, he works so hard to earn his paycheck and this guy is training our team really well right now, we should have a heck of a season under his coaching.

Q. Your prediction in the Atlantic Division and your record?

A. I don’t know yet, we got a pretty difficult schedule to start the Season but if I have to tell you I expect this team to win the Division and finish with more than 45 games win this season.

Q. Shaq and Wade (duo) vs. JK, VC and RJ (trio) your comments on the season opener.

A. This is our first test of the Season against a great young point guard and Shaq I think this will tell how good we are right away.
