Vince Carter admits he didn't always give it his all with the Toronto Raptors.

Tch tch. That's just sad.

Well, it doesn't take a genius to see that he's averaging 24, 6 and 3 with the Nets (last time I checked).

Yeah, the attitude.

I do not like Vince Carter. He's a self-centered, obnoxious, injury-prone a-hole. I have never liked him. He's the best dunker ever, but that doesn't prove anything. I honestly hope he gets injured for the season.

I like him but I am sad to see that he would not give it all just because of the Raps. No matter what situation, you should try your best.

It's a life lesson, seriously.

Well, it doesn't take a genius to see that he's averaging 24, 6 and 3 with the Nets (last time I checked).

Per 40 minutes [He was playing 10 less in TO]

Toronto:
20.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.65 steals, 0.99 blocks, 1.46 turnovers ---- 21.2 shots per game, 5.0 FT attempts per game

New Jersey:
22.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.33 steals, 0.17 blocks, 2.17 turnovers ----- 19.4 shot per game, 4.8 FT attempts per game

The numbers haven't neccesarily had a big improvement, they've actually dropped more than they've increased, the Nets are a horrible rebounding team, and he's shooting better due to playing with Kidd, so hence more scoring and rebounding. Everything else is worse.

It was obvious he didn't give it everynight, he moved like a line graph, some night's he's playing harder than you've ever seen, and then other times he's playing like he just got beat up and couldn't move. After talking to Jamison, he was playing hard, not putting up the numbers, but had the effort.

Seriously though Vince is just stupid, he's never known how to talk to the media, and he syas he didn't give his best because their was no motivation, he needs to learn to motivate himself. Now I know we've been losing for a while and weren't making too many positive strides, but still, whatever, at least we can hope on out 10-20th picks, even though their's a 40% chance of a 10-20th pick being a starter if you look at recent years, and a 6% chance of them averaging 20+ PPG, but s'all good.

It's pretty sad when a star gives up on the team that gave him a huge deal and made him a star. AND THEN, he says he wants out because the team has let HIM down. Give him a few years in JY and he's gonna do the same thing all over again. It might not even take a few years, just as soon as J-Kidd gets his wish and ends up in SA or Minny,

Even when he and RJ are the only ones left on another rebuilding team filled with rookies and bench warming free agents?

You are leaving out Kidd
I believe he will adapt better with RJ and Kidd at both his sides
He never was apart of a trio like that in Toronto
I may be wrong about the whole thing, just my opinion though

I left out Kidd because Kidd will be out, sooner or later. By the beginning of next season, Kidd will not be a Net. I agree that TO hasnt had a trio like this, but they've had years with loads of depth, much more than the Nets have had in past years.

Yes, but if Kidd is traded, New Jersey will get something valuable back, it's not like Kidd is going tp be a free agent.

but say they trade him for Cassell, draft picks and Ervin Johnson or someone to even out salaries, Johnson is a free agent and Cassel has one year left and is near the end of his career. New Jersey's owner is really cheap, so neither would be resigned, meaning the trade would be mainly for draft picks, which the Nets already have a lot of. They will try to build the team with their plentiful supply of picks they have received from denver in the Kenyon deal, and a few other left over conditional picks. Do you really think Vince is gonna be content to ride along.

I saw a little bit of the interview on the pre-game show before the Timberwolves/Sixers game. I suppose you have to admire his honesty, but this is a situation where honesty is perhaps not the best policy. It certainly does reflect badly upon him, one certainly can't blame his former teammates, people with the Raptors' organisation or Raptors' fans for being upset at hearing the remarks.

I guess he took the words of Homer Simpson to heart: "If you don't like your job, you don't quit. You just go in there every day and do it really half-assed."

well in a way its good for the raps fans and the organization, Carter needs to be forgotten, i hope they take this as motivation as im sure the rest of the league looks at the raptors as hopeless since vince has gone...
its time for them to move on, do better, and prove what they really can do, coz the raps do have an impressive team. Sure they may not have a superstar anymore YET...but Bosh has the makings of one..and araujo isnt dissappointing as many ppl percieved...

So the point of my blabbering..is that the raptors need to use wat vince carter said and use it to their advantage and get something positive out of it.

And as i read thru my message, i find out wat i said really doesnt make much sense...im just letting it out

Man, after I read that, being a Raptors fan for many years, that really pisses me off. He's lucky to have enough talent, but ungrateful enough to care about giving his all to win games, to help his teammates, and to realize how much money he's making because of the organization's dependency on him to help win games and ultimately lead to a championship.

I'm glad he's off the Raptors because the Raptors can do without a cancer on the team. He apparently shows that he doesn't love the game of basketball as much as a big 95% of the league, and would rather make free money and go home and play some video games.

What did they talk about?

Jamison was talking to him about the whole wanting to be out situation or something, don't remember too many of the details.

It was obvious for the most part that Vince wasn't giving is all every game this season, like Rafer said, one day you'd have a guy who's working really hard, and the other day a guy who doesn't seem like he wants to do anything on the floor.
