Hawks - Rockets Trade

Postby kibaxx7 on Fri Dec 24, 2004 7:43 am

www.nba.com/hawks wrote:ATLANTA (Dec. 23, 2004) -- The Atlanta Hawks today acquired guard Tyronn Lue from the Houston Rockets in exchange for guard Jon Barry, according to Executive Vice President/General Manager Billy Knight.

“Tyronn is a hard-nosed defender who can push the ball up the court,” Knight said. “(Hawks assistant coach) Larry Drew coached him with the Lakers and in Washington so he’s familiar with his abilities. He has a good attitude, and loves to play, so we’re looking forward to having him.”

“At the same time, this was done because of the development of our young players – Josh Childress, Josh Smith and Royal Ivey,” Knight added. “We like the way they’re emerging and growing. We didn’t feel like there would be a lot of playing time for Jon at that shooting guard position.”

Who won here??????

Everyone won, the Rockets don't need Lue, and Barry is a vet presence who can shoot, pass, and is a smart defender.

I feel bad for Jon Barry's family, constantly having to move.

great pickup for the rockets.. barry's a good shooter and defender; from what i've seen he can hit clutch shots too.

Lue and T-Mac... used to be a good team. When Atlanta gave away Abdur-Rahim and Sheed, they didn't have any good player except Terry. Now they have Walker, Harrington and Lue. Great team, again!

Rockets win here.....they get another 3 point shooter, defender and playmaker. Barry is pretty much the same as Bob Sura except and better shooter. They'll appreciate his hustle.

Lue is a good Substitute gaurd , not starter. When he was with the lakres he was a good Substitute not All Together player. Specially when he got Crossed over by Allen, then Stepped over , then talked junk to by Allen Iverson AFTERWARDS! Got damn.

Rockets Won. indeed. I hate Hawks because im here in GA.
