Ok so VC dunked at the olympic games MJ came out of a triple team with a tomahawk!!!!! yes a tomahawk! 3ppl! who else has done this?? Dr J. no, VC,no, KG, no wilkins,no shaq, hell no!!! and also pip is the 2nd best dunker in history totally mad!!! OH YEAH GIVE RESPECT TO RAY ALLEN HE IS CRAZY AT DUNKS TOO!!

You need to shut the hell up. MJ was DOPE, but Vince Carter rules all.

If your going to drive by Dirk Nowitzki BASELINE and throw a Reverse Windmill in his freaking face, your the shit.

MJ was talented but Vince Carter has done WAY MORE.

I bet you 100% that Vince can pull off anything on the court in a REGULATION Game with alot of room. I swear he can stick his arm in the rim, but he chooses not to be TOO FANCY, It might come out ugly.]

Pippen was solid, just because he SERVED Patrick Ewing like Omarion Did them kids in "U Got Served" doesn't mean he is the best.

And Ray Allen? Sure he's an In Game Dunker, Don't get me started about what he did in the Dunk Contest that one year. :|

If I reckon Kobe went Baseline earlier this season in Utah and dunked it reverse with a couple of Jazz Players.

Oh yeah, Stop riding Ray Allen.

i chose jordan, his dunks aren't "technically difficult dunks", i.e. between legs 360 windmills, but the finesse and hangtime are unbelievable.

where's spud webb? MAD HOPS :P

Also, re: that Vince Carter dunk over the 7 footer. I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but he pushed the guys head under his legs with his hand. Last time I checked that's an offensive foul, it's like if you wanted to drive past someone you hook your arm around their waist and push them out the way. Highly overrated dunk, but it looked cool.

I still have the video of that.
Your right and the otehr guy who tried to call you out,.... STFU! please.

Your the kid whos mainly riding Vince. Noi im not saying Vince sux, hes like the best out RIGHT NOW! Not all time. BUT NOW!

MJ... if youve seen practice videos of him hes did ally oop free throw line dunks... (Only once though after messing up twice...) but still. Who else does that?

MJ....he's dunked on 7 footers that are also great shot blockers.....Ewing, Mutombo, Shaq, Hakeem, D-Rob etc and i believe that he did jump over some dude that looked at least 6'10, he played for Charlotte or something. What's also cool is that Jordan also managed to get fouled whilst dunking on these fools!

Also, Ricky Davis did a sick dunk over Steve Nash, he knocked him out!!!

Clyde the Glyde, in game he takes off a foot inside the FT line and dunks it with a defender right next to him. He could have easily dunked from further out, even beyond the FT line.

Give more love to Dr J, he had some crazy in game dunks that we just don't see today.

Doc. No doubt.

Before him the dunk was just a novelty. He turned it into an offensive force IN the games.

I'm strictly old skool, so I'm going with THE DOCTOR. He was the master. I wish you young fans could have seen him in his ABA days. His sh!t was vicious!

J-Rich should really be on that list. I mean he coulda took 3 titles in a row, but instead or just doing an average dunk to beat Fred Jones, he insisted on trying to go out big.

air gordon wrote:i can't believe dominique wilkins or julius erving aren't getting a lot of love here.

these 2, imo, are the best dunkers. in game or in competition, it didn't matter, their dunks were always badass.

jordan, vince carter, jason richardson are a step below

i was considering putting MJ in the upper echelon but after reviewing the '88(?) dunk contest in chicago on the latest MJ dvd, Wilkins indeed should have defeatetd him in the finals.

Ah come on, perhaps then, but MJ deserved victory in his rookie year 1985 competition. Coaches loved backhands at that time, and Dominique jumped from close up and just finished with bang bang. MJ did freethrower, the cradle twice (one being reverse cradle). Beautiful hangtime, though his finals attempt nr one wasnt anything special. Nevertheless that one was better than Dominiques last one, though Wilkins still got more. Popularity points, no ones going to let a rookie win if the previous year the favorite got stripped from the title ;)

Nevertheless, Vince at his basketball age-prime of 28 says:

IS: You can still get up, but...
Vince: "I can't dunk like I used to."

Really tells me enough. He was great at 2000, but not really the best dunker of all time.
