I haven't seen any Raptors games this year so I admit I'm not familiar with their general gameplan. But Rose was second (now first) on the team in scoring, so I assumed he would be their first option with Carter gone.

Sorry to bring this up but apparently the Nets have contacted Karl Malone.

If Karl is indeed looking for a ring, I don't think he'll find one in New Jersey. If he's after the record, I still don't think he'll find it there either.

The Nets contacted Karl Malone's agent, according to two sources. But Malone appears to be a long shot as the Spurs are the front-runners for his services.

And since I'm on about the Nets & Carter, let's throw this in for some good reading/discussing.

Two days before Toronto Raptors general manager Rob Babcock traded Vince Carter to the New Jersey Nets, he was informed that Carter may have tried to sabotage his team in a game a month ago.

Three members of the Seattle SuperSonics say they believe Carter intentionally tipped off a play during the final minute of the Raptors’ 101-94 loss to the Sonics in Toronto.

Babcock today at the New Jersey and Toronto game said that he did not use that reason to trade Carter. Babcock also said that there is different types of reasons for doing that.
1-To use this as a decoy and run another play
2-To ask for a challenge
3-I forgot the third one :x

I also heard that New Jersey was looking to sign Jerome Moiso or getting him in the trade.

Isn't Moiso a free agent now? Didn't Toronto release him to make space? If New Jersey was interested, they could just sign him, right?

New Jersey's been linked to numerous big men, Jelani McCoy and others, can't remember anyone but McCoy & Malone though.

Jerome Moiso was released by the raptors after the trade was done to make room for the new additions. The trade COULD have involved Mosio in it. Thats what i meant to say. Now probably NJ wont sign him cause he really isnt a consistent player and asks too much money. Sometimes you see him getting rebounds the other times waiting for something to hit him.

I think the third was knowing you're going to make a play or something like that, but yea it was irrelevant.

Scalabrine starts now.
This is actually an ingenius trade on the part of the Nets, they are opening up the starting spot for Scalabrine, whom, we all know, is the secret weapon of the New Jersey Nets. This is the breakout season for Scalabrine, he'll be as dominant as Shaq in his prime.

I can't say much about the trade as long as Jefferson remains the primary scorer and Carter doesn't take too much away from him I'll be happy.

And Nenad Krstic is playing really well, I think he can be a big part of this team in the future.

And Nets are playing well after the trade, nice win against Cleveland. Maybe they should leave Carter on the bench

I have a feeling Richard Jefferson will be the leading scorer for the first month while Carter gets the hang of things but after about a month Carter will take over. Richard Jefferson has been playing great basketball and deserves to be the leading scorer for the team but for some reason I see most plays being drwn for Carter especially in the fiinal minuite or 2 of the game. Carter is a fan favoroite and fans pay big money to see the ball in Carters hands.

i don't know, i'd run plays for Jefferson cos he takes it to the rack. Watch tomorrow when Nets play Pistons. Jefferson will drive at Prince and Prince can't stop that (as evidenced all last season and playoffs, take notes Kobe) and Carter will just shoot over.

Carter plays his first game tomorrow against Detroit....i don't really see him doing that well. Detroit should win given the Nets weak frontcourt.
