I'm sick of Kobe, I'm sick of the Lakers..

Like real basketball, as well as basketball video games? Talk about the NBA, NCAA, and other professional and amateur basketball leagues here.

I'm sick of Kobe, I'm sick of the Lakers..

Postby Steve04 on Thu Dec 16, 2004 6:25 am

Ever since about '99 or so, the Lakers have been my secondary team to root for when my hometown team isn't in the playoffs(Wizards), Kobe was my favorite player, the Lakers were dominant, everything was all good.

Now, there is nothing but drama, Kobe seems like a Class A Ahole, or some kind of insecure little something, but that's what everyone has been saying right? He's still one of my favorite players in the league, but the more I hear about him the more I wish he wouldj ust shut it and play ball. I'm sick of hearing about who he's in a fued with, I'm sick of him complaining about Malone hitting on his wife(The irony. Kobe did you ever stop to think that maybe this is just Vanessa manipulating you? Sure seems like it's easy to do) JUST SHUT UP. And the Media needs to stop putting this crap on television. I think I will just stick to the Wiz and be neutral come playoff time, and neutral to the Western hemisphere of the basketball world. Damn the Lakers. I want to watch Basketball not a soap Opera. So why can't I turn it off when they're on TV?

Well if you are sick of the fact that they are not dominant anymore, you could better just jump off the bandwagon.

I do agree that Kobe just needs to shut the fuck up and focus on basketball from now on. He should know whatever he says will be used in a negative way against him. I wouldnt be surprised that if he said: "I like ...(enter players name here) as a person" that there would be a breaking news flash on tv to report that he came out of the closet and admits hes gay (according to ESPN "expert" reporter bum ofcourse).

But seriously, I was so happy that the whole off-court issues have finaly stopped for the Lakers, and now it seems like its even worse then with the rape case. Its becoming a drama show because of those off-court stuff. I also heard that Odom feels unfomfortable in Los Angeles and might want out. I will always remain a fan of the Lakers but this is just getting anoying.

It'll blow over soon enough. I can understand Odom feeling that way though, in Miami he was getting alot of accolades etc, in LA the feeling is that Kobe's the shiznit and the others are just by standers. Oh well, Buss & Cup'o'shit made that choice and will have to live with it. They'll probably end up losing Odom somehow, perhaps for some draft picks.

Nah seriously, no worries, they just need to focus on the goal, winning.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am here to bring to your attention an evil, heinous entity that has infected the National Basketball Association. His name? Osama Bean Bryant. I've studied him for quite some time now and have carefully outlined this miscreant's pernicious deeds. I warn you in advance what you are about to read will shock, offend, nauseate and surfeit you in ways that are unimaginable.

- cunningly framed Scott Peterson and also volunteered his services to perform the lethal injection, with the bevel down.

- once when visiting a Children's hospital he gave a 10 year old diabetic a 5 lb. bag of Skittles and a root beer float.

- was the third shooter on the grassy knoll.

- reportedly gave Michael Jackson young actor Haley Joel Osment's (from the movie Sixth Sense) cell phone number and told him to "holla".

- incited the Watts riots in 1965.

- upon meeting legendary boxing great Muhammed Ali, he greeted him with, "So, what's shaking?"

- wrote and directed the movie "Gigli."

- successfully convinced young Ashlee Simpson that it was "okay to lip sync, who's going to find out?"

- shot rappers Notorious B.I.G, Tupac Shakur and gave ODB the 2 bags of white substances found in his stomach via the autopsy.

- the first African-American member of the Klu Klux Klan.

- Bob Marley shot the sheriff, Kobe shot the deputy.

- when Joan of Arc was burned at the stake, Kobe lit the match while singing Lloyd Banks' rap song, "On Fire."

- once giggled uncontrollably when a man in a wheelchair involved in an altercation with a supervisor yelled, "I won't be pushed around!"

- helped Baltimore Ravens' runningback Jamal Lewis broker the drug deal, he recieved an assist for his efforts.

- was responsible for Hurricane Andrew.

- was one of the police officers who bludgeoned and beat Rodney King.

- he was really the culprit who gave Barry Bonds the flakseed oil and clear cream.

- sold singer Whitney Houston crack cocaine.

- He was a personal advisor for the following dictators: Fidel Castro, Augusto Pinochet, Nikolas Ceaucescu, Idi Amin, Pol Pot, Mao Tse-tung, Josef Stalin, Benito Mussolini, Adolph Hitler, Napoleon Bonaparte, Genghis Khan, and Attila the Hun.

- He was responsible for the San Francisco Earthquake of 1906, and the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 (and everyone thought it was Mrs. O’Leary’s cow . . .)

- He said to O.J. Simpson, “I’m really not sure what you were so jealous about, but I guess I could take a stab at it . . . and to Robert Blake, “Your late wife must’ve really gotten on your nerves – of course, that’s just a shot in the dark . . .”

- He sold guns and explosive materials to Columbine H.S. students Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold.

- Knows the location of Jimmy Hoffa's body.

- He turned over “inside” stock trade information to Martha Stewart.

So now I ask you fellow Americans, how can we possibly let this knave continue on his cankerous mission? Thank God there are a few voices of reason out there like BSPN: The World Wide Leader in Sensationalism who are well aware of this rapscallion. Most notably, Screamin A. Smith and Dan PaTRICK but they cannot do it alone!

Who's with me? WE MUST DESTROY HIM!

Agreed that espn and most of the media has been hard on kobe, Kobe has to stop making every incident he has with teammates public. I cant see how his approach is helping anyone. Kobe, just play, man... just play...

Kobe4mvp, please, I'm not hopping off the "bandwagon" because they aren't dominant anymore, Kobe is still my favorite player, but the point of the rant is I'm getting tired of,

A. The Media's obsession with everything Osama Bean Bryant.
B. Kobe not shutting up when he has to know everything he saids is going to be painted in a negative light.

I thought Sports was about athletic prowess, not enquirer type material. I don't give a damn about off court activity, my favorite players are my favorite because of the way they play the game first and foremost.

And Dre, that's too funny.

Lots of people tune in just for the melo-dramatics.

Kobe Bryant is in the spot light in all sports at the moment, his rape, his "ousting" of Shaquille O'Neal. The spotlight is on him now, negative or not, he wanted the spotlight to be on him, now he should suck it up, play ball and stop playing the good boy/bad boy thing with the media. One day he's raping a girl and the other day he's saving his damsel in distress.

Fuck that dude, just do what you do best...well...as far as we know of then, play.

Props to ATrain for this one, it's a CLASSIC!

******IMPORTANT NOTICE******

RE: Recent reports about Osama Bean Bryant activity, sightings, chatter.

The Office of the Secretary of the department of Homeboy Security just announced a raise in the threat level from Gold to Purple.

The Office has asked that we remain calm and go about our daily lives. They further recommend that we continue to shop and have recommended Phil Jackson's new book, any of the numerous left over copies of STEEL (featuring America's most beloved mumbler), or any number of the following players' jerseys: Ray Allen, Shaquille O'Neal, Deion Sanders, Karl Malone (Soon in silver and black), Stephen A., J.A. Adande.

In coordination with the Commissioner's office, the Department of Homeboy Security has issued the following warning:

There appears to be a "sleeper cell" of Thugs attempting to promote bad music and attack fans in Detroit. Although there has been no evidence of a direct correlation between this cell and the mastermind O.B.B., it is speculated that the cell's leaders Ron Artest and Stephen Jackson wouldn't enter the stands without some signal from Osama Bean Bryant. (I saw Bryant's most recent news conference and if you looked closely at the way he held the basketball in his left hand and licked his lips three times after saying, "Yeah, Nah"; you could easily tell the he was trying to communicate something devious).

Please, report any and all sightings of Osama Bean Bryant. The most recent version of the Patriot Act gives the media and you, the fans, every right to know which house Mr. Bryant stays in, who is hitting on his wife-besides me-she's hot, and every word spoken.

****** END OF REPORT*******

seriously, people just need to get off kobe's jockstrap . so many people get on his case because " phil said this ", "karl said this", "shaq said this", "ray said this". it's pretty stupid how a lot of people tend to side with these people when it's a your word vs. my word situation - no one knows the truth except for the people in conflict. i usually shut up about 'kobe issues' because it's fairly repetitive and annoying but it's come to a point where it pisses me right off. a lot of people tend to forget that behind this great basketball player is a man that makes mistakes just like everyone else -- yet when he makes one the media, or people in general swarm him like crazy. i just want people to put themselves in his shoes and think about the shit he has to deal with day in and day out. i seriously wonder how people feel about the shit he has to go through. it's absolutely despicable how people would resort to anything to break this man down. he's endured enough and the media needs to drop it and find something else to write about.

I'm gonna like the Lakers. I will. Kobe Bryant is a really really good guy, Malone just got confused and said something, then Kobe got confused worse than Malone, Then on ESPN earlier today when he was on NBA Shootaround the whole show he said he was lost and outta place like.

it still does not change the fact that it is a your word vs. my word kinda thing. so he has issues with other people, so what? i know i have my enemies, i'm sure you do, i'm sure a lot of people on this forum do as well. people should just mind their own business and let them deal with it themselves instead of being partial bitches and siding with whoever is anti-kobe

I too am sick of this. He can do what he likes, and he doesn't need to announce everything he does or goes through. I just don't care, so I'm going to ask everyone to post all their Kobe related crap to threads which already exist instead of making multiple threads about the same thing. Please! :P

Im fed up with all the media surrounding the situation because basically i want to read about other shit at hoopshype.com!
one thing though...Kobe shouldn't have gotten married so young if he just wanted to bang some young chick in colorado. There are a few things that piss me off the most in this world - infidelity is one of them.

And i used to want to believe that Kobe could have been the next mike, but i cant bring myself to cheer a basketball player who gets paid a *cough* SHITLOAD of money and only shoots 39% from the field.

Michael Jordan should be ashamed

By Sinclere Lee

CHICAGO, Illinois (BNW) --With all the money Michael Jordan has, it should be nothing got him to pay for his discretion with a mistress, and be glad to do it instead of trying to shun his responsibilities.

Attorneys for NBA superstar Michael Jordan filed a lawsuit Wednesday accusing a woman of attempting to extort $5 million from him in exchange for keeping quiet about a relationship they had more than 10 years ago.

The lawsuit conceded the NBA superstar and the woman had a "relationship," but did not go into details. The suit also alleges that the woman was paid $250,000 by Jordan "under threat of publicly exposing the relationship."

The suit was filed by Jordan's attorneys against Karla Knafel in Cook County Circuit Court in Chicago, the city where Jordan became a legend with the Bulls, leading them to six NBA championships in the 1990s.

Jordan, 39, is seeking a "trial by jury on all issues," according to the suit.

In the suit, Jordan acknowledged he had a relationship with Knafel "a decade ago" and that he paid her a quarter of a million dollars not to disclose it.

"Under threat of publicly exposing that relationship, Ms. Knafel extorted Mr. Jordan into agreeing to pay and paying her $250,000," the suit states.

Since then, the suit claims, Knafel through her attorneys has "attempted to extort additional money from Mr. Jordan." The alleged extortion demands were made to one of Jordan's attorneys in Chicago.

"The extortion demands threatened to publicly expose the now decade old-relationship unless Mr. Jordan paid Ms. Knafel $5 million pursuant to a purported second agreement," the suit alleges.

The suit states that Jordan has not paid Knafel any additional money on top of the $250,000.

"Mr. Jordan requests that this court enter an order declaring that Ms. Knafel's demand that Mr. Jordan pay her an additional $5 million not to publicly expose their decade-old relationship is unenforceable, enjoining Ms. Knafel and any other persons acting on her behalf from engaging in any further efforts to extort money from Mr. Jordan, and granting Mr. Jordan such other and further relief as this court deems just and proper," the suit says.

Knafel and her attorneys were not immediately available for comment.

Jordan attorney Frederick Sperling said the suit speaks for itself: "The complaint says everything Michael Jordan has to say."

In January of this year, Jordan's wife, Juanita Jordan, filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences" and seeking custody of their three children. A month later, she withdrew the filing.

The couple has been married for 13 years.

And i used to want to believe that Kobe could have been the next mike, but i cant bring myself to cheer a basketball player who gets paid a *cough* SHITLOAD of money and only shoots 39% from the field.

Dre...my comparing kobe to mike didnt have anything to do with infidelity it had to do with bball...i respected mikes game...not what he chose to do off of the court. I did respect kobes game..and sometimes i like when he has a good game, but i really dont like him as a player at the moment.

i'll clarify..i used to want kobe to be the next mike on the court...but i cant bring myself to make those comparisons anymore.
