The Comeback of Grant Hill

Postby Jeffx on Tue Dec 14, 2004 1:39 pm

With all the craziness & negativity surrounding the NBA these days, it's nice to see positive stories like Grant Hill's. I never thought I'd see him playing again. It's a testament to his character & work ethic. Great job, Grant.

No arguments here, it's great to see him healthy and productive again. I'm sure I'm not the only one who was dismayed to hear that he sat out that game a few days ago, but was relieved to hear it wasn't his ankle and see him back the next game. I've noticed that his boards and assists have been up and down recently, but his scoring is consistent.

if i remember correctly or somehow this is in my head, i think he cant dunk yet, but he is getting back to that explosive dunker he was, i mean he can dunk but like if he's all alone and get a good start...so once he gets his "jumping" back, i think he will be more consistent on the boards and get more points of course...

Hey, would u guys credit Steve Francis for being sort of help for Grant fitting back into the game because Franchise and Dwqight can always back Hill up??

And its great to be able to see what Hill can do because i've never seen him play before!

I think the only way you could credit Francis and Howard is for taking some attention away from Hill as a result of their arrivals. Still, I think a lot of people stopped paying attention anyway, this is what, comeback number 3 or 4, or 5?? Grant Hill deserves most of the credit for where he's at. Just about everybody gave up on him, including the Magic to a degree.

I'm glad he's doing well!

if he continues to play well, do you think he is hall of fame worthy?

Quite possibly. If he can play a significant role on a championship team or two I'd say there's a very good chance he'll be headed back in that direction.

even though i'm a big fan of his, i don't think so. don't get me wrong he's still very productive but he's 32 now and he was away during the time where he would've been in his prime. unless grant can somehow step his game up one more notch, improve a lil more next season and a couple seasons after that there's still hope. if he wins a ring, that would be a good addition and would certainly help him in getting to the hall of fame.
nonetheless though, he should be considered for the HOF. his stats speak volumes

Carter (619,959) and Orlando’s Grant Hill (552,328) lead all Eastern Conference forwards.
All he has to do is stay healty which he will!

For the sake of nostalgia and recognising his comeback, I'd like to see him get the starting nod...it seems a lot of fans feel the same way.
