Since there is an ongoing thread about "Lebron: Already better than Kobe?" I came up with these 2 good questins.
1. How long did it take Michael Jordan to reach the #1 spot as the best swingman?
2. Who was the 2nd best swingman during Jordan's tenure?
3. If MJ has been the swingman of all time, who do you think sits on second place on that list?
Thanks.

The minute he stepped into the league he was the best swing man. Talk about making a splash, I was in 6th grade his rookie year and all I could talk about was MJ.

Thanks.
It was a tie between Bernard King of the Knicks and Sidney Moncrief of the Bucks. I always leaned a little more towards Bernard....

you know you're the best in the league when larry legend dubs you as "god disguised as michael jordan" -- and that was only in his 2nd season! dropping 63 on the celtics is an unheard of feat.. in today's standards that's like dropping 50-60 points on the spurs.. and we all know thats not happening anytime soon.
.. unless your name is tracy mcgrady

Yeh, Tracy could drop 60 pts on the Spurs.. But his team would still get blown out by 40-50 pts.

Michael Jordan was the best from the moment he stepped into an NBA stadium and played. IMO, still the best.
No one will eva amaze me like he did.

well, does this mean LeBron will be similar to Jordan? The second he stepped in the league, everyone was talking about him. It's his second season, if he drops 50+ vs. the Spurs, what would that say?

2nd best swingman during mj's career... mitch richmond: not as successfull but pretty damn good. wish there was league pass back then
2nd best swingman.. imo julius erving
i'm not sure how long it took for mj to become the best swingman in the league. but not too long: he made 2nd all nba in his rook year. also at the time there weren't that many marquee 2 guards compared to now and Dr. J & the iceman were in the twilight of their careers
