Kobe's Ego

Postby Donatello on Wed Dec 08, 2004 9:45 am

Let's not talk about his talent. Only his fatass ego. I just read this, and it really bothered me. I put the part in bold that is really bad.

"I don't think he's coming back," said Bryant, who was then asked whether he had planned on Malone's return from a strategic perspective.

"Yeah, naw," Bryant said. "Plus it's not really fair to hold it over the guys' heads that are here. Like, the guys that we have here are working hard, practicing hard every day. It's kind of tough for them to be looking over their shoulder, wondering if he's going to come back and then everybody is going to disappear.

"They are here giving me 110%. It's really not fair for us to sit around and speculate how long this is going to go on. I mean, you can't sit up here and speculate for the remainder of the season whether or not he is going to come back. I mean, that's not fair to the guys that are working here."

giving ME 110% how about giving the TEAM 110%...or the COACH 110%....sorry if this isn't that bad to anyone else, I just see that as really egotistical and shows how he really feels about this "team". Should just change the team name to the LA Kobes. Actually, no, just Kobe.

I think Kobe said he was the one pushing everyone to work hard. Not that he was saying it was HIM that did it, he was saying it like "Over here, you have to want to work hard, [etc etc] if you don't want to work hard then this isn't the place for you".

i know he wasn't saying that it was him that did it. you missed my point.

he's implying that the rest of the players are giving 110% for KOBE, not for the team. like kobe is the coach, owner, mascot, etc

edit: and now, as refuze just posted, malone has ruled out a return to the lakeshow because of kobe's stupid comments.

As a Kobe Bryant fan there is no denying that he has a ego the size of Shawn Kemp's thyroid gland, HUGE ego. And yes, that comment didn't really rub me the right way either to be perfectly honest...

But what kills me is the constant villification and character assassination of Kobe Bryant. I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that his career wil forever be mired in criticism and pot shots. I think when it all boils down to it he's a good, upstanding guy who just wants to win.

The media loves to weigh in on what's bad about Kobe but I'm waiting for them to give him his props for being an outstanding leader who's playing unselfish basketball season. I guess I'll grow old and gray waiting for this huh?

It is a two-lobed endocrine gland found in all vertebrates, located in front of and on either side of the trachea in humans, and producing various hormones, such as triiodothyronine and calcitonin.

Basically, a slow or oversized gland will give the owner the propensity to gain weight. Hence, the reference to Shawn Kemp.
