As the topic says....

idol wise mines gotta be Andre Miller, yeh some say hes a fluke of nature but I always go against that opinion.

He did really well but the Clippers and Nuggets to be honest are the teams he doesnt really fit in. Clippers had unhealthy players and well Dre just got sick of the lack of commitment so some may beg to differ, Nuggets well theirs not a single play run for him ...and Melo's the biggest ball hog now, I think Dre made a mistake going to Denver...I would have liked to see him in a team that he'd suit in better, a more solid type ball club that has a stronger passing game.

I tried my best to model myself to play like Dre too, cause I was a terrible 3 pt shooter and not a good top notch scorer inside either, but I played with pass first mentality....but I guess I really played more like a point forward cause I was like the rebounder of my team , 5-4 but I use to lead my skool in rebounding, grabbed like 10 boards off the bench.

well as for players that I consider heroes I guess would be David Robinson and Avery Johnson, two guys that never acted with big heads and went for the bling bling life. Yeah they came from hard knock academy's but those are the type of players kids should look upto, they play the game in the right way(they use to, sadly retired now ) ..... I salute them !

Hakeem Olajuwon, always marvelled me with his abilities to do EVERYTHING

John Stockton, the pure PG that is the most unselfishguy (arguably) to play the game, no ego, just played the game hard and well

thos are guys i admire but the following is the guys i model my game after:

Steve Nash: the running lane jumper, i was doing that before Nash, he stole it!

RIP: he just moves off the ball constantly and that makes teams ALWAYS pay attention to him

Kirilenko: he kicks ass and so must I

Eddie Gill, who kept his head, jumped into those nasty fans and tried to save Jax and Artest for doing something stupid (unfortunately Jax and Ron are quick as hell). As he is anything but a franchise player in this team it was very couragous, in my opinion.

My "idol" (i don't think you can call that an idol but whatever) is MJ of course, i grew up watching his games and i got to see the best.

MJ, although I do think at times he is too harsh on his teammates, I admire his work ethic. He inspired me to take 200-400 shots a day (depending on the weather).

my hero is Andris Biedriņš....that dude was drinking and hanging with the chicks all the time 1year before he was a NBA player,he was a sucker on the court, but when the Skonto coach saved him,he made to the NBA in 1year progress

Hakeem and Grant Hill because he has been out for so long, but continued to fight against the injury. Now he is back and averaging 21 points a game.

He's not my favourite player, but Steve Nash.

A little Canadian kid form Oak Bay made it to the NBA and is leading the best offence in the league right now.

I suppose I try and model my game after a guy like Steve Nash for when I'm playing point. I just try to run the offence and get everyone good looks. And knock down the mid-range jumpers when they leave me alone. Like the '99 Avery Johnson more so, except I push the ball more.
When I'm at off-guard I play like Shawn Marion. My strengths there are getting out on the break and finishing and slashing. My jumper is good enough to keep a defender fairly honest.

yeh I agree with u, but how can anyone play proper if u dont get plays run for u, I mean hes not a ROLE PLAYER, hes a star quality player. Plus im sure there were plenty of bandwagoners when he was 16-10-5 , but your rite....but Melo is a ball hog dont forget that n hes already given up on his team n got a bad attitude.

Royal Ivey is my idol (2nd round rookie of Atlanta Hawks). He made the NBA through defense, hustle and working hard. He's a point guard who plays under control, passes first, and plays great D. That's what i want to aim to be.

Ron Artest...

I feel sorry for this guy, I'd buy him a beer if I walked into him in the street.

When I was younger It was Isiah. That game against the lakers when he sprained his ankle and kept playing is all guts and determination. Jordan was so good, but i never looked upto him. He was god-like in his glory days.. but I always looked upto Isiah because of that one perfomance.

Forgot to add, but also Gilbert Arenas and Michael Redd because of how hard working they are, Arenas got a ket to the practice facility in GS because he was always there, and in Washington he used to be spotted in the gym at 2:00 AM, and at all hours of the day working on his game. Both of them also came from being second round picks to becoming pretty good players.

forgot to add tony parker.. picked 29? i think or 28? or maybe 27? in the first round and he already has a championship ring in one of the best teams in the league.. not to mention he's starting too..

has the sweetest teardrop shot in the league, imo
and one of the more underrated crossovers too (ask devean george)

Andrei Kirilenko

This guy is everything I want to be when it comes to basketball. I try to model my defense after his, and he is very unselfish and is still young and will only get better.

And kobe4mvp, Kirilenko is arguably the hardest working player in the league, I don't think there is another player who has his work ethic, which is why he is my idol.

Kobe Bryant.

I grew up watching this guy. It was about the time I started 'loosely' watching the NBA around time Kobe was drafted. I just loved watching him, how he started off the bench, just playing really cool, dunking and such. And every year he got better and better, and he became a starter, and he made spectacular plays (like one time vs the spurs he stretched backwards and dunked the ball as he was flying away from the basket). Then finally, they won a championship, and there's just nothing like that 1st championship...
