While Artest was sprawled on his back on a scorer's table, away from a scuffle on the court, Green, who was identified over the weekend as "the fan in the white hat," apparently threw the plastic cup of beer. Artest then jumped up and charged into the stands, throwing punches as he climbed over seats.
Green stepped aside and another person took the initial blow, according to reports. The tape of Friday's fight then shows the man attacking Artest from behind.

I thought it was a plastic cup of beer. Stuff came pouring out of it in the air.Jae™ wrote:Oh, and it was a water bottle that hit... they don't serve beer in bottles apparentely, just plastic cups.

look at the replay, Artest goes for the ball with his right hand and with his left he pushes Wallace in the back/head/neck and also leaning into him with the ball nowhere near there.....hard foul, lets just get that cleared up.
Id Wallace did that, would i be pissed off hell yeah. Why? well because he entered the stands, hit fans, came back down and sucker punched another dude. A massive overreaction to getting beer thrown on you. It's not self defence when you chase after someone.
A season's suspension is the only answer for such actions. Any civilized person would not do what Artest, Jax or O'Neal did. They are all retards and it's good that they are getting punished, i feel sorry for Pacers fans because they had nothing to do with this.

The fan that he hit on the court was just as deserving of what he got. If you think that Artest was out of line by going into the stands but think it's ok for the fans to step onto the court then it just shows even more ignorance Matt.
This is the dumbest of statements. Are you calling myself, Yohance, Charles Barkley, Shaq, and anyone else who has said they would do the same uncivilised? Are you calling the cocksucking fans civilised? It goes both ways, remember that. And I know if it was a complete Vica Versa, you would be trying to justify the actions of the players.

I never said that Wallace was justified in pushing Artest. What he did was wrong and a suspension was/is in order.
I can't explain why Wallace didn't retaliate to Shaq but my theory is because when the teams played the games were close and Wallace did not want to be ejected and make the team suffer. Shaq in turn has been fouled hard all of his life and one night he snapped on Brad Miller. Why not before that? Who knows, that's not the issue anyway.
the fan got sucker punched by Artest, that's low. He didn't even raise his arms to initiate an attack, he was walking towards Artest and got hit. Even if he had been attacked, given the size of Artest and strength compared to the fan, there were better ways of restraining him- punching shows no class and should be a last resort only.
I've never even said that it's OK for fans to enter onto the court, I kept it strictly on the players. Of course it's wrong what the fans did and they should be punished harshly.
1. There's no other way to call those actions other than uncivilised. When you chase after someone, hit them, sucker punch someone- that's not civilized. You cannot justify the actions of any of the players, what they did was obviously wrong.
2. I've kept it players only, but no, i never said or implied that the fans were civilised. They too were involved in the brawl
