Finaly the fan who thew the first drink at Artest has been identified and is wanted by the police

While Artest was sprawled on his back on a scorer's table, away from a scuffle on the court, Green, who was identified over the weekend as "the fan in the white hat," apparently threw the plastic cup of beer. Artest then jumped up and charged into the stands, throwing punches as he climbed over seats.

Green stepped aside and another person took the initial blow, according to reports. The tape of Friday's fight then shows the man attacking Artest from behind.

Thats just terrible, I hope this man get locked up or something. He was the one that started this riot.

Also, the guy that JO punched on the court, appears to be 16 yrs old. The kid was trying to seperate Artest from another fan on the court as he fell on the floor, but then ONeal came out of nowhere and raped him in the face.

I thought it was a plastic cup of beer. Stuff came pouring out of it in the air.

Penalties were way too big. WAY too big.

Surely Artests wasn't.

If Artests wasnt too big Matt, what did you want? The man to be suspended for life? Seriously, some piston fans are worse than the old laker fans... I wonder if this was a complete vica versa situation how you would feel. If this was at conseco, and wallace doesnt even foul artest hard. Artest shoves wallace.. wallace does the right thing at doesnt retaliate. Then some retarted pacer fans throw beer at wallace and he snaps.

Tell me matt, would you think wallace should be suspended the rest of the season for defending himself? If you say no, then you are full of shit.

It's great to love a team. But don't put any team or player ahead of the game. The game needs integrity behind it, not your favourite team racking up wins.

look at the replay, Artest goes for the ball with his right hand and with his left he pushes Wallace in the back/head/neck and also leaning into him with the ball nowhere near there.....hard foul, lets just get that cleared up.

Id Wallace did that, would i be pissed off hell yeah. Why? well because he entered the stands, hit fans, came back down and sucker punched another dude. A massive overreaction to getting beer thrown on you. It's not self defence when you chase after someone.

A season's suspension is the only answer for such actions. Any civilized person would not do what Artest, Jax or O'Neal did. They are all retards and it's good that they are getting punished, i feel sorry for Pacers fans because they had nothing to do with this.

So let me get this straight. You think that Wallace was justified for retalitating to a normal (i'll get to this in a minute) foul, but Artest isn't justified for retaliating when some coward throws a beer at him? This was exactly my point when I gave the scenario of Ben Wallace and the Pacer fans. You can't be ignorant to your team.. it makes you close minded.

As for the hard foul? Please. It was marginal at best. Now I know Ben Wallace was under stress with the passing of his brother, but it wasn't that hard of a foul. I can somewhat see and understand why wallace reacted in that fashion, but Wallace has been fouled alot harder before by Shaq and he did nothing to retaliate..

Id Wallace did that, would i be pissed off hell yeah. Why? well because he entered the stands, hit fans, came back down and sucker punched another dude. A massive overreaction to getting beer thrown on you. It's not self defence when you chase after someone.

Actually, he went into the stands, palmed the guy he thought threw the beer at him, but didn't throw any punches that i saw whilst in the stands. The fan that he hit on the court was just as deserving of what he got. If you think that Artest was out of line by going into the stands but think it's ok for the fans to step onto the court then it just shows even more ignorance Matt.

This is the dumbest of statements. Are you calling myself, Yohance, Charles Barkley, Shaq, and anyone else who has said they would do the same uncivilised? Are you calling the cocksucking fans civilised? It goes both ways, remember that. And I know if it was a complete Vica Versa, you would be trying to justify the actions of the players.

The thing is that the punk who threw the drink was ''trying to separate'' the brawl and was behind Artest ''trying to pull him away'' really throwing suckerpunches from behind...
Now that's a real pussy

I stand by my intitial statement of "I wish Artest broke his neck"

Tue Nov 23, 2004 11:48 pm

I never said that Wallace was justified in pushing Artest. What he did was wrong and a suspension was/is in order.

I can't explain why Wallace didn't retaliate to Shaq but my theory is because when the teams played the games were close and Wallace did not want to be ejected and make the team suffer. Shaq in turn has been fouled hard all of his life and one night he snapped on Brad Miller. Why not before that? Who knows, that's not the issue anyway.

The fan that he hit on the court was just as deserving of what he got. If you think that Artest was out of line by going into the stands but think it's ok for the fans to step onto the court then it just shows even more ignorance Matt.

the fan got sucker punched by Artest, that's low. He didn't even raise his arms to initiate an attack, he was walking towards Artest and got hit. Even if he had been attacked, given the size of Artest and strength compared to the fan, there were better ways of restraining him- punching shows no class and should be a last resort only.

I've never even said that it's OK for fans to enter onto the court, I kept it strictly on the players. Of course it's wrong what the fans did and they should be punished harshly.

1. There's no other way to call those actions other than uncivilised. When you chase after someone, hit them, sucker punch someone- that's not civilized. You cannot justify the actions of any of the players, what they did was obviously wrong.

2. I've kept it players only, but no, i never said or implied that the fans were civilised. They too were involved in the brawl

3. You don't know me and you don't know what i would or wouldn't be doing if the situation was reversed.

By saying it was a hard and dirty foul by artest, you are justifying Wallace's actions up untill a point.

I have that game on tape. Shaq was hammered at game by fizer, Oakley, Miller.. eventually he had enough.

Even if he had been attacked, given the size of Artest and strength compared to the fan, there were better ways of restraining him- punching shows no class and should be a last resort only.

The fan ran up to artest, then when artest saw him, the fan slowed down (almost stopped) then kept comming. When Artest swung, the fan stepped back. He knew it was comming. Why else would he be comming on the court. It's the same as the players jumping into the stands and complaining about getting hit.
I've never even said that it's OK for fans to enter onto the court, I kept it strictly on the players. Of course it's wrong what the fans did and they should be punished harshly.

But your saying it's wrong for artest to hit a fan that ran on the court in that situation :? .
1. There's no other way to call those actions other than uncivilised. When you chase after someone, hit them, sucker punch someone- that's not civilized. You cannot justify the actions of any of the players, what they did was obviously wrong.

So you are infact calling people with a different opinion to yours uncivillised? You're calling anybody who has retaliated to be physically assualted uncivilised?
2. I've kept it players only, but no, i never said or implied that the fans were civilised. They too were involved in the brawl

And thats the problem. Don't just criticise the players if you think both sides are at fault.
