Looking at the guide on Foxtel, there are 2 college matches on tommorow. But no NBA matches? Can someone confirm this please?

I never go off the Foxtel gide. Use this site: http://www.international.espn.com/intltv/index.html
It's more upto date... and as you can see, there are NBA games in december :)

Looking on the site that Cambyman just posted, there are still 2 college games on tommorow Michigan vs Arizona and Wake Forest vs Providence. Wouldn't mind watching the Michigan and Arizona match, but still no NBA match tommorow.

Lol I should read peoples questions before trying to answer them...

No NBA tommorow.. but there is Detroit/Miami on saturday. I don't know why ESPN has been so cheap with NBA games this year...

Well according to that ESPN International Guide there's a grand total of 4, yes 4 NBA games on for the month of December in the Pacific Rim.

Sat 4/12 - 12-2:30pm DET @ SA

Sat 11/12 - 12-2:30pm PHI @ CHI

Thu 16/12 - 12-2:30pm DET @ NY

Sat 18/12 - 12-2:30pm DEN @ MIA

Nothing for Christmas - i mean there was a double header on last year for goodness sake! :x

Anyway, i've emailed them asking what's up with this. I hope the guide is wrong in some way or other - otherwise my subscription is virtually a waste of money...

Philadelphia and Chicago is kind of a weird game too show, they usually have one good team in the matches.

Maybe so, but it's a treat for Bulls fans living in Australia. So far, I haven't been moved to order any 2004/2005 Bulls games from PonTel. I know that doesn't sound like the words of a true fan, but when you're on a limited budget double-digit losses don't really encourage you to splash out $25 per DVD. For $25 a game, I want a good game to watch.

As we all know, we can get the latest ESPN Pacific Rim schedule here, but since I've put together a schedule for my own personal use, I thought I'd post it here on the forum too.

NBA Action seems as though it will be shown in a regular timeslot: 7:30 PM Fridays. It is also repeated after the repeat of NBA Friday on Saturdays and a couple of early morning timeslots.

2004

Saturday December 4th, 11:30 AM: Pistons vs Spurs
Saturday December 11th, 11:30 AM: Bulls vs Sixers
Thursday December 16th, 12:00 PM: Pistons vs Knicks
Saturday December 18th, 11:30 AM: Nuggets vs Heat

2005

Saturday January 1st, 12:00 PM: Sixers vs Nuggets
Thursday January 6th, 1:00 PM: Suns vs Rockets
Saturday January 8th, 11:30 AM: Sixers vs Timberwolves
Thursday January 13th, 1:00 PM: Mavericks vs Rockets
Saturday January 15th, 11:30 AM: Spurs vs Mavericks
Thursday January 20th, 2:30 PM: Lakers vs Timberwolves
Saturday January 22nd, 11:30 AM: Pacers vs Heat
Saturday January 29th, 11:00 AM: Cavs vs Knicks

* Please note that the starting time I'm given includes the KIA Shootaround pre-game show in some cases.

So it seems we'll have one game a week with a couple of weeks featuring two games. There appears to be only one week in the next couple of months that will not show any NBA games - hopefully this is subject to change. Otherwise, a Harlem Globetrotters game will apparently be shown. The Thursday slot (the NBA Wednesday game) sometimes features college ball, motorsport or other miscellaneous sports programming.

The best thing to do is watch the games.
Convince 100 of your friends to watch b-ball or die. With high ratings, we will get the nba games.

I've got my doubts as it isn't listed as this juncture, but perhaps they'll make a last minute change. Here's hoping. (Y)

Guess there's hope then. At least the NBA schedule is remaining fairly stable for the meantime. It's a shame that they've cut back to mostly one game a week, but at least that's something; it's one more than they show on FTA.

Heres a schedule which has NBA, College games and NBL games on. It's done by MSF the place to go for ball in Australia. Visit it at www.streetball.com.au.

Thanks for the link Skip, it pretty much confirms everything from the ESPN Pacific Rim schedule I was referring to - which is excellent news. :)

(Digging deep rather than starting a new thread)

Just a reminder to my fellow Aussies with pay TV that ESPN Pacific Rim will be showing the doubleheader this Saturday (Heat/Kings followed by Mavericks/Lakers), the first time this season they've shown three games in a single week. Also, looking ahead to the end of April, it looks like we'll be getting some pretty good coverage once the playoffs begin.
